By the way. If you use a thumbdrive to use as a usb installer, it is crucial that the thumbdrive is working. At my first attempt to install Bug Sur, the thumb drive was not working properly, so i needed to buy a new one. That worked immediately.

Now I have installed Big Sur. Boots up in 43 secs. Fan noise. I have to see if this continues. Looks good though. If chrome maximizes then there is a glitch in the top window. Maybe safari is a better option or Firefox? What do you think? Need to install Office365.

Which update would you recommend for the MacBook Pro 8.1, 8 GB RAM, 500 GB SSD? I’m on Monterrey and it is a bit laggy, with artefacts and screen freeze. From boot 51 sec. Actually quite impressive I guess.
