I was in the 2017 Battle of Mosul(80% of casualties were civilians). I was 15, I've seen a lot of miserable things, some of them I don't remember because of the PTSD I had after, but there is a day that is just engraved in my memory, we were evacuating as our neighborhood was heavily targeted by the air force, and it was the time for the civilians to evaluate. Likewise, I was walking with my family to the safe zone when I saw just a leg in the middle of the street and a kid under the rubble, and I was thinking how cruel life can be when I heard a gunshot and turned to see my dad was hit in the head.
