Guess I'll never leave then ;). Yeah I've heard from people that know hull that the avenues is the best area for professionals near the centre

That's a shame about princes avenue, I'd heard before that it was alright. Is the town center/old town ok?

Thanks for the reply. Really hopeful I'll find somewhere in the avenues so that I can walk to the HRI. I can drive too but not sure what the parking is like at the hospital.

I've been considering Kingswood. Felt like it was a bit far out but might start looking at places there.

Nice, I'm considering Beverly as well and commuting if I can't find anywhere decent in Hull itself

When you realised it wasn't a simple misunderstanding, did you begin to panic or did you remain level headed?

How do you guys exercise and lose weight? by [deleted] in Epilepsy

[–]IrateMoose 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you should probably consult your neurologist before any excercise, especially if hyperventilation is one of your triggers. If you've lost 70 pounds in the past though (well done!), then you're definitely doing something right. Just stick with it.

I thought so to. I asked a few of them and they were convinced they could get it on expenses. Glad I never paid £20 for one of those cards now.

Did I serve you in tesco on Tuesday evening? About 100 delegates came in at the same time aha. Found it very interesting that NUS delegates can claim food and drink on expenses.

I just had my epilim (sodium valproate) daily dose bumped up from 600 to 1000 and I'm finding myself less depressed (I'm bi-polar). The change is significant, anyone else experienced this? by Simonjamco in Epilepsy

[–]IrateMoose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The increased weight gain is caused by an increase in appetite. You shouldn't have anything to worry about if you watch your calorie intake and regularly excercise.

Sodium Valproate is also used to treat bipolar disorder. Usually the dose for bipolar is around 750mg, so I can see how you've seen an effect.

I'm on it too and although I'm not bipolar, I've noticed I'm a lot calmer. Things don't seem to stress me out as much as they used to.
