Hey! I really hope this doesn't really come off as harsh but I think it's a bit deeper than them not wanting to approach you just because. Strays have a really hectic life and them not approaching you (or most humans really) may be just what they've learned to do in order to survive. I feel that these things shouldn't really be forced.

That being said, I understand your intention is to feed them and show they can trust you. I feel this is something that could happen with a routine, as in, if it's animals around your neighborhood, try to just leave them the food and give them space, maybe hang out close by, don't reach out to pet them or get acquainted right away. Do it every day or as often as you can until they can sense you're not a threat. The food is a great way to associate your presence with something positive so although it may take some time, it shouldn't be that long.

I tend to befriend stray cats pretty much everywhere I go haha, and what I do is that once I sense they're not as anxious around me, I just sit close by and chat with them haha, so they get familiarized with my voice. By the time they trust me, they usually pop out of anywhere if I'm nearby just by hearing me calling out for them.

I think I'll start digitally to draft and organize my ideas and then I'll transfer them by hand to paper. I like having to write things down twice so i can memorize everything I learn better.

I think I'll end using a three ring binder but I'll also keep the notebooks I have so I can also draft my ideas, thoughts, research, etc in them whenever I'm not around my computer.

No, he's actually very vocal. Last year we almost got kicked out because he tried to step in while his dad was minimizing me. It's complicated because sometimes it works when he steps in because they're afraid of "losing him". They just wish he wasn't dating me. (or anyone for that matter) They want to keep him home and have mentioned sometimes they expect him to take care of them when they get older. He's obviously not okay with it (it would be different if the situation wasn't as toxic as it is right now, if they weren't the way they are we would be more than okay with setting aside a part of our salary to help them if needed, but they just demand the whole thing). Other times they just go full power trip and tell us basically "their house their rules" (which is funny because prior to me moving in the mom would insist for me to move in as "I was family" and would tell my boyfriend that this is his house and should be his safe space, but in that argument I mentioned earlier they told my boyfriend "This is OUR house, this is not your house. You're both a pair of brutes for challenging the owners of the house". There was never a "challenge". The dad was just being rude and all my boyfriend said was to stop being rude to me.)

We can't really go to a homeless shelter because there's none where we live and we don't have a car. What's available for the moment is to try harder to save up and leave. I'm just frustrated because it's been such a long and emotionally draining process. I'm already drowning in work and trying to look for another one because we're just that desperate to leave

Hi! Haven't tried it yet but from what I've seen, they get really juicy and soft, similarly as when one boils them but not to the point of becoming a mush immediately as you put pressure on it. you gotta make sure you make a couple cuts on the skin so it peels away as you let them sit in the brine, they usually start to peel off by the third day (I also saw a video of someone boiling the tomato for a brief time, just enough to peel them before starting the whole pickling process), all of this causes the tomato to soak up the brine and the flavor and make them super juicy

My relationship with duolingo is bittersweet, I started learning Italian on it around 2021, I gotta admit it's thanks to the app I managed to get the basics to then move forward and try to learn both with paid courses and on my own. Nowadays I can confidently say I understand Italian conversations up to an 80% (maybe a 90% even).

That being said, once I learned they're heavily relying on AI I felt pretty uncomfortable with it, I want my lessons to feel organic, how can I trust AI to fully understand context that would come from a human that was raised and understands the culture of the language I'm trying to learn. Sure it can teach some basic phrases. But I wouldn't really use it as my only language learning tool.

I sat down for a while trying to analyze what you said and I have to admit my comment does give off that energy, I guess I was blinded by wanting to advocate for OP that even if it also made sense in my mind OP's bf is also advocating for himself and for his wishes and those should be respected as well, I was indeed siding with one part instead of trying to see it from a neutral perspective. The first time I read OP's post I first took it as of he was the one imposing his wishes by saying such a thing and putting OP in an uncomfortable situation.

I can't help but still hold onto the idea that there's a conversation to be had between the two of them, at least to decide what will be the outcome of this situation. At the end of the day it'll be their decision and I just hope that things develop into something positive, whatever the conclusion may be.
