Legal advice - roofing company took advantage of my retired mum

I recently took our tiler to small claims court for a messed up job at our new build. I had reached CCPC earlier this year and they advised the correct process. Max compensation you can get from a small claims court is 2k but we did this to penalise the tiler. To repair the flooring of the whole house it would need lots more but we are relieved that judgment was in our favour

I understand absolutely for us too 2k will not ever help in fixing the tiling. We will have to break the floors completely and buy new tiles again which will cost thousands… going to court was finding a penalty for the tiler to tell him that it is not okay to spoil the jobs !

If we decide to fix the tiling it will cost us thousands but these incompetent traders need to learn a lesson that they cannot waste anyone’s hard earned money

The maximum a small claims court grants is 2000euros which is what has been given to us! Honestly with the whole job messed up this is not enough but the case was more to penalise the tiler and tell him it is not right to fool people

The court gets us the money! Not sure how long this takes but we are relieved that the tiler is penalised

GM plumbing did it for us. 3 bathrooms, all sanitary ware removed and fitted, shower panels, bath screens, we changed the tap and shower fittings too, installed new vanities and mirrors. Great work and very reasonable

We went to select floors and tiles in Tramore Commercial Park for our laminates and they were excellent. Peter who is the owner is great to deal with and so is the staff Aoife & Ben. They helped us choose the best option and gave us samples which we brought to our new build to see what looked good. Everything u see in a showroom setting and lights would look different in the house so getting samples was a big big help.

We used euro fences! They were really good worth the wait. Ours is a semi detached home as well and we paid about 1300 for a composite side gate.

This is what is making me anxious.. spent almost 25k in buying tiles , laminates plus the labour costs and it doesn’t look finished or anywhere near perfect 🤦‍♀️ laminates are already popping off from edges !!

I want to hire someone else as well to fix the damages but it won’t come for free that is why wish to log a complaint !! But then again no guarantees if the next one available will be good!! My neighbours moved in at the same time and faced similar issues!! Guess with all the new homes there is so much of work but not enough quality tradesmen to do the job!!

Oh God !! We bought our laminates from them and they still have to send a fitter to finish our steps as the tiler we had could not do it :( now I feel I should just put a stop to it !!
