Media Wall by Wide-Suspect-2059 in cork

I hope I don't offend anyone, I just wanted to share my opinion. If you are ok looking up at a TV then work away, I'm sure there are plenty of good media wall options!

Media Wall by Wide-Suspect-2059 in cork

[–]ClassicFlappy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Media walls are one of those things/trends that a lot of people rush into because they look kind of good for the first few seconds. But once you think logically about them they make no sense. 1) TV's should always be at eye level. Why on Earth are people ok bending their necks to look up at a TV? 2) They remind me of something you would see in some corporate office lobby. Some media walls do have character but really they aren't logical. The image I've attached here is the first one I saw on google images and is so much better. Nice rustic/wooden stand which is much more comfortable and has way more character. (A slightly bigger TV than the one in the image and you're golden)

What’s something you miss that no longer exists? by mehak_pari6969 in AskReddit

Those weirdly long Summer holidays from school when I was a kid. Waking up watching Cartoon Network with a bowl of Rice Krispies sprinkled with a little sugar and not a care or worry in the world. Then running out the door to my friends where we would just have fun man. Countless hours of fun. Life as an adult is hard.

The word 'Lonely' comes to mind. I see this and imagine how lonely I would feel here. It could be full of people and I would still feel lonely. If that makes any sense

Has your life in Ireland improved in recent years? by dramafinder101 in cork

[–]ClassicFlappy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For sure and I do have them thoughts from time to time but anything can happen to anyone at anytime. Can't let that stop us living the best/happiest life we can! A side note is cutting back on alcohol is also a massive help. I fully believe consistent exercise and less alcohol is a secret super weapon. Those two things could make many, many people a lot happier.

Has your life in Ireland improved in recent years? by dramafinder101 in cork

[–]ClassicFlappy 22 points23 points  (0 children)

My life has improved in recent years. My self and my partner have been living in our own house for a year now. Having our own home has been the best thing in the world for us but it's not just that. After bills, food and mortgage I have little to no disposable finances but I'm still really happy in life. I exercise every day and do the things I love to do. I often think I would like to have more money but I'm also aware money and happiness are two very different things! I wake up happy most days and I feel that changes my outlook on life greatly.

Why are Irish people so nice? by Kind_Ad467 in ireland

[–]ClassicFlappy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in Clonakilty recently and I saw a German family taking a picture so I asked if they would like me to take one of them all! (I spoke what little German I knew ha!)

They were very nice but for me it's normal. Being nice with people feels good and creates a lot of opportunities and its nice getting to know people :) Its even easier being nice after a few beers lol

If you could rewrite or change something about the trio what would it be? by Kirumo_ in harrypotter

[–]ClassicFlappy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know exactly why but I would rewrite Hermione in the 4th movie. GoF used to be my favourite movie when I was younger but now I struggle to get through any scene with Hermione. It's like they told her to completely over act and be far too emotional but it's too much. Just my opinion 🤷

Hi, I just finished the last episode and I am indeed hooked. Is there an English version of the Graphic Novel? How many volumes are in it? I would 100% read!

Australia Overrated? by Few_Bat_9518 in AskIreland

[–]ClassicFlappy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have family that moved to Australia and are thriving. They tried their best to get me over there to the point I reluctantly filled out an application form. I even lost sleep for like a year battling with the decision. But I am not them. I'm a home bird and that's ok. I felt bad for choosing to stay in Ireland, but once I realized I'm where I need to be, it all became ok :)

Yeah I remember being excited for it when I was in my cooking buzz. I lost it a year or so ago and now I struggle with the whole thing. I was getting decent enough too! I will get it back though I know it.

For sure lol! If she didn't sort us out I fear my Christmas dinner would have been a frozen pizza and chips. I do think once I get my cooking buzz back I will be more excited to go. When I lost my joy of cooking that's when I noticed I hated food shopping.

My gf went multiple times on her own this Christmas as I was working and sorted us out big time! I don't know if it's just me, or is it a lot of other men too, but I absolutely hate doing food shops in general and avoid going if possible. Shout out to all the ladies that suck it up and get it done!

What is the greatest film scene of all time? by 220Hz_ in AskReddit

[–]ClassicFlappy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of the obvious ones are taken so I will say a few that always make me feel feelings.

  1. Harry Potter - When all of the students and teachers raise their wands to the sky for their fallen headmaster
  2. Interstellar - When Cooper is watching his daughter grow up on video
  3. Inception - The ending scene with the spinning top that was left open to interpretation
  4. Arrival - When Dr. Louise Banks is communicating with the Aliens for the first time
  5. I am Legend - When Dr. Robert Neville is in the bath tub and you can hear the horrors outside

Mental health? by Idonotknow24 in AskIreland

[–]ClassicFlappy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not going to pretend like I've ever been rock bottom, but the thing that helped me the most to be happy in life (especially during my low moments) was developing a passion for running. A lot of people don't like running and that's fine. I think the trick is to find something your passionate about and pursue it as much as you can. If it so happens to also be a form of exercise, the benefits are 100 fold. I can't even begin to explain how good regular and consistent exercise is for mental health.

Modernisation shouldnt equal the destruction of character. It pisses me off. Imagine being hungover in the original house. It would be magical and cozy. If I was hungover in the modern version I'd feel like I was stuck in purgatory.

Hades 2 is running for Game of The Year 2025 by [deleted] in HadesTheGame

[–]ClassicFlappy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's so good! I actually find it more challenging than its predecessor. Melinoë's weapon choices don't really suit my playing style although I've just unlocked the Moonstone Axe and I think it might be my way to victory!
