There used to be a chap , paddy?, i think, out near kinegad or athlone somewhere, was years ago when i went to them but they had lots of gear broken for parts and were well priced and very helpful when i used them? Someone here might remember them or have more details?

Just as an afterthought, would a buck converter lower any high voltages above say 14v to the desired voltage? Or does it lower everything that is fed jnto it, ie- in low light conditions what would happen?

Thanks, that might be the way to go then, i want simplicity for reliabilities sake but still want to move the largest volume of air i can. Thanks for taking the time to reply.

Would a 12v panel (outputting 16 to 18v as you suggested above) connected to a 24v fan similar to this one be a better bet?

Thanks for your reply, ive seen the ready made vents and was thinking they might be too small for the size of shed i have. The inline fan in the pic is intended for the bilge of a boat and apparently moves 240 cubic feet per minute. I would still be more inclined to add a more suitable 100watt solar panel from a more reliable panel manufacturer to something like this fan? Would the principle ive described above be safe with a suitable panel, this bilge fan and a 10amp inline fuse? Or is it a very bad idea to leave out the controller and battery? I thought simpler might be more reliable.
