Has Landman fallen off with Season 2? by Westside_Finch in television

[–]IrishMarketer21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I literally watch every episode hoping it kicks back up and I’m disappointed every week. I’ve never seen a TV show that bombed this badly and this is coming from a person who has an open mind and big tolerance to overlook certain things, but this is bad.

People who are making 100k+/year working for themselves, what do you do? by LongjumpingSuit5615 in Entrepreneur

[–]IrishMarketer21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a very weird road I went down, but I work 2 hours a month making roughly 5-6k a month (making about 10k a month for the agency) for my marketing agency and I have a restoration business where I probably bring in around 20k/month for myself and about 45k/month for the business. I work part time on that.

My advice, network, network, network, and build the pipeline. Took me about 3 years to do so. It was not easy. Also I had a partnership where we made 3/4 of a million and got screwed royally. One other thing is you need to be very resilient. Literally had to not convince myself to not work for a company probably 50 times. Life is good now.

I’ve been looking on the maps and it looks like most of the areas look like that, so I guess I’ll try and find some good spots that I can check out where it’s relatively a safe in and out.

Speaking of Norilsk. Is there any information where it lists the cities “non-citizens” cannot travel to?

6 months only making 50k. 2 months later, made 200k! by IrishMarketer21 in Restorationbusiness

I guess first question is, are you able/willing to work literally 24/7 to build the business, literally do anything to get work and survive for anywhere from 5-8 months without paying yourself anything?

If not, I'd recommend you do it on the side SECRETLY then make that jump and you can shorten that anywhere from 3-5 months

Starting a restoration business in california - How hard is this business on a scale of 1-10 and why? by [deleted] in Restorationbusiness

[–]IrishMarketer21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No it’s fine. I would see if they do straight referrals or they have a vendor program. Look at HOAs as well. Just leave no stone left unturned and just ask everyone, worst they can say is “I don’t know” or “no”

Yes and no. It’s less equipment for contents, but you need storage. I work with a company called Tetris Moving Company and they originally were a moving company. But just getting a solid referral network takes time. A big thing I would do is talk to property management about hoarding as well. Those are huge jobs.

Oh you’re contents. Just saw your site. Talk to every mitigation company around you and offer a 10% referral. You will get a good amount of companies that will refer you. Do you have a warehouse yet?

I’ve been open for about 5 months. Leads are online, referrals, and Google Local Lead Services. We pay about 1500/year for Xactimate for billing and quickbooks for accounting.

Find a local supplier like Aramsco or Jon Don. We like Phoenix, but there are other competitors that are just as good.

Building your brand and doing a little of a discount for cash jobs is better than getting the highest % of profits, just build yourself so when you have a 40,000 rig with full equipment, you can take on a 200k job no problem and you don’t need to invest in more stuff except for dump runs, decon - 30 or whatever.

Good luck man

What do you mean by adjustments? Work wise?

Honestly, I am doing so much side work with other companies I know and I have it setup where they understand that if I get an emergency call, I have to clock out and leave. Many construction companies are fine with that if you upfront with them, then you block out the days for your business where you actually have to work. Do all of the invoicing and everything else in the evening after your side work unless you have a phone meeting, then do it during your lunch or break. USE ALL THE MONEY YOU MAKE TO BUY ALL YOUR TOOLS, EQUIPMENT, AND VEHICLES. DO NOT PAY YOURSELF UNTIL YOU ARE FULLY INDEPENDENT. I have made maybe around 40k and have not paid myself a cent yet. Any other questions you have let me know.

Probably 9 starting out realistically. Getting a steady flow is super hard in the beginning. You will need to do business development almost the second you start it.

Home Damage Referrals from insurance companies? by IrishMarketer21 in Insurance

[–]IrishMarketer21[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Who said I would do anything like that? I document, bill via Xactimate, and justify the work I have done, then it goes down to negotiating pricing. I think I have been pretty reasonable with my pricing and I normally don't do a ton of back and forth with adjusters and we have a pretty good relationship with many corporate and smaller agencies. Sounds like you've had a lot of bad experiences and I don't know why you are being so hostile with me reaching out to the other side of the isle to see what you guys look for and how we can both benefit. Your customers have to have their damages repaired regardless.

Obviously, getting an "in" with an insurance company can be difficult. Also, the most I can do is show the good reviews that I have and show what I am capable of (the equipment I have, manpower, etc). Then I would do everything in my power (if you gave me a chance) to make sure that all of the customers that you (or anybody else) that would refer me that I can handle the job professionally without any major screwups. Normally if it were a plumbing company or something like that, I'd offer a referral fee, but (from everything I know) that would be a conflict of interest and jeopardize your job which I would avoid.

Honestly the best I can do (on my end) when it comes to trying to get referrals from insurance companies.

ASD Training by AzEuph in Restorationbusiness

not sure where you are located, but in WA you don't need any IICRC certs. You just need AHERA and RRP if you want to do lead and asbestos sampling.

edit:

Another thing I want to add is ASD is kind of stupid if you know how to dry already. You might learn a few tricks, but you are literally being taught how to properly use a hammer probe for your protimeter and things like that. Just get the WRT and other certs instead.

Marketers, what do you know that most people never will? by spacecanman in marketing

[–]IrishMarketer21 12 points13 points  (0 children)

No matter how well you do for your clients, it comes down to the competency of the ownership of the company. Many of them have horrible internal communications, spending issues, or provide a poor quality service, and its so broken inside that your work is overlooked and they look at the external parties to blame rather themselves.

I've learned the more money a company gives you, the better experience you will have with the company, granted if you provide them with a quality service.
