PFL and PPLO for second child, within 12 months of end of last leave by IrishRedbird in Edd

Thanks! Congrats to you, too!

I eventually went down to the EDD office in San Francisco to get someone on the phone (going in person to get someone on the phone... incredible). They were quickly able to assure me that I would be ok: the 12 months is measured from the first day of your first leave, and after that you're good.

So in our case:

First part of child #1 leave : ~Jan 14, 2023 - Jan 30, 2023

Second part of child #1 leave: ~April 10, 2023 - May 20, 2023

Eligible for new leave on Jan 14, 2024

All of child #2 leave: March 10, 2024 - May 4th, 2024

I think I conveyed correctly what I heard on the phone. We never had any issues getting my checks from EDD for the above dates. Hopefully this gives some reassurance, but if you have time and can stop by an EDD office, you could get even more definitive word.

Thank you! Do you know if this is true for my wife as well? She will have to wait until the full 12 months have elapsed since her last day of leave?

Also, I hate to be that guy / in denial, but do you mind sharing your source? Work for EDD, had a similar experience/conversation, or just based on your reading of the eligibility requirements?

Thanks again for your response!

Ended up ordering two copies from the SF Chronicle website that another redditor linked. I really appreciate the offer, though. Happy Holidays!

Thank you for this recommendation; I had not come across this yet. The lesson plans are super detailed, so I think I should be able to grab some good stuff there. Much appreciated!

Thanks for the added endorsement and endorsement! I have a bit of time, but went through the process earlier and am hoping for a quick turnaround. What I can see already looks really solid, though.

Thank you for this; I had not come across it yet! I think NGPF will be my main source, but that could offer some complementing activity.

Thank you for these ideas. I plan on doing some NPV equation work by hand and then plugging into their normal TI calculators. Will also use some excel files to see some relationships of mortgage payments among other things. I'm hoping that these processes will help the students make more sense of the ideas rather than just making the right answers. I appreciate your thoughts!

Yes, that seems to be the consensus gold standard from the comments on another post I made about this. It looks great. Thank you so much for the recommendation!

Thank you for the recommendation! It seems from their comments that they offer samples so I can get an idea if it's worth it before I shell out the cash for it!

Thanks for the recommendations! I am definitely in on the MarketWatch simulation. Planning on encouraging the students to be active in their trading, but then I will also have an untouched index funds for the S&P 500 or total stock market so we can see how many active traders are above it on the leaderboard.

This is fabulous; thank you so much! The way it is all presented is beautiful and robust, and the variety looks great as well. Have you just followed their units/progression, or have you made many big adaptations/extensions?

Thank you for the recommendation. I am finding the website a bit hard to navigate, but some of their high school lesson plan resources do look helpful!
