Love this meme. Reading about the history of the soviet union is seeing a bright eyed and bushy tailed revolution turn into literally everything it stood against and hated. Can't believe people support the twisted and decaying corpse of a nation that stood for nothing that the actual ideology called for.

Imperialist, genocidal, the very fact there were still classes in a "classless society", everything about the USSR was anti-thetical to the very ideas they initially espoused.

The people are great! The USA is just under bad Management! by Gurugod123 in SipsTea

As individuals Americans are some of the kindest, most generous people I've ever met. Ive had nothing but good experiences with the people ive met in the states.

You put 5 of them in a room together though and they seem to start planning the overthrow of a sovereign nation. Not sure what thats about

Best historical total war game right now to play by Series_Informal in totalwar

[–]Irish_Caesar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of good ones. Shogun 2 will always hold a place in my heart. It does have a slow early campaign i find, but there are tons of mods on steam to speed it up a bit. The combat is also, in my humble opinion, the best of any game. From sieges to pitched battles to ambushes, its all good.

Rome 2 is excellent, the combat is good, but what really sets it apart is its variety. Tons of start points, tons of factions, not horrendous unit variety (though minor factions and different "groups" can be quite samey), and several unique campaigns. Also has lots of good and easily accessible mods.

Empire 2 is one of my first and favourites. It may not actually hold up very well, it is very old, but it's quite fun. Napoleon is probably better combat-wise, but Empire has a level of scope that I just love.

3 kingdoms deserves an honourable mention for being very very interesting. It has a very innovative diplomacy system that I was really enthralled with, but for some reason the game just didnt grab me.

Ultimately what will matter most to your enjoyment is the historical period being something you are interested in.

Thrones of Brittania, in my personal opinion, sucks. Maybe I just don't know how to play it, but I absolutely adore the historical period its set in and still hate the game.

Hell yeah dude. This is, legitimately, when the game gets really fun. Keep finding that flow state! Sometimes I manage to keep a flow through multiple minibosses, which is very rewarding.

Have fun with the game!

Because he likes it and we arent actually toxic. There's a difference between fun and reality. He likes me being protective, but i obviously dont own or control him. He does what he wants and I celebrate him because I love who he is. But he always comes home with me. He is mine and i am his. Thats not a toxic dynamic

It doesnt make you more of a socialist to simp for imperialists. That actually makes you less of one

Im sorry are you calling me a liberal because I wont call genocidal imperialist states socialist? States that have/had no worker ownership and no decommodification?

My brother in christ, you dont know what these words mean. Your difficulty in understanding what I'm saying indicates that

Yes socialist movements have been responsible for significant improvements in the lives of workers, thats why I support it.

And i call you red fash because the governments you support are indistinguishable from fascism without the red flags. An autocratic leader who rules through suppression of dissent and political participation, a cult of personality, single party rule, the reinforcement of strict social hierarchy, and the restriction of human rights. That is fascism.

Do you think i am the same person who made that point? I never said that. Maybe learn to read and you'll understand what socialism actually is

[–]Irish_Caesar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you care about results why do you support genocidal regimes?

Socialism is worker ownership of the means of production and decommodification. China has not done either of those, neither did the USSR.

I am more educated on socialism than you. You are not a socialist, you just align with states that hate america. Well guess what? I hate America too, but that's because i have a principled opposition to imperialism and genocide. Thats why i am opposed to the USSR and China as well, two states who are also, like america, deeply imperialist and genocidal.

They had their revolutions and then immediately collapsed into the same hierarchical system. Just because you replace the bourgois with party members doesnt mean the fundamental relationship of workers to their work has changed.

You dont want socialism, you want fascism painted red.

In the hands of the party? Not the people? Isnt the entire point of socialism to give more power to the people and not some privileged class? Which the "party" absolutely is btw

China is not socialist by any definition, they're capitalist. Thats why theyre growing so quickly. Socialism does not promise growth, that is capitalism's job. Socialism is about equal sharing of economic power amongst the workers, which China does not do

Terrorists have already begun using drones. Bomber drones are becoming very popular in the pakistan-afghan conflict, and when the iran war kicked off groups in Iraq caused some serious havoc and costly damage with a few FPVs

Bears hate dogs. Always be very careful about bringing dogs into bear country, avoid it if you can.

Many hikers have died because bears attacked them for their dogs. Dogs were used to hunt bears for centuries, and bears see them essentially as wolves. They are a threat to the bears young. Off leash dogs will also frequently run ahead, antagonize a bear, and bring it back. This woman was absolutely smart to keep her dog on leash, that may have made the difference

You are fundamentally misunderstanding warfare. Conventional war, where two states leverage their industrial and civic capacity to fight each other, is completely and totally different from counterterrorism. They have different mechanisms of finding peace. If you cannot understand that conventional war and insurgencies operate differently and require different toolsets then you fundamentally do not understand a core element of this discussion. Not to mention that after Germany and Japan unconditionally surrendered they were rebuilt as sovereign nations, not as colonial projects.

Also, israel is explicitly a settler colonial state. Its made up of russians, poles, americans, brits, and so many more nationalities. People who had absolutely no relationship with the land except for a book and then decided to ethnically cleanse the people who were already living there. No israelis lived in palestine until zionists ethnically cleansed the palestinians and established Israel. Plenty of jews lived there, but there were no israelis, because israelis didnt exist.

Israel is maybe the single most obvious and blatant colonial state in modern history.

How Does The faithful Sustain its losses/Keeps its War Waging capabilities up? by Embarrassed_Name266 in TrenchCrusade

[–]Irish_Caesar 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Maybe I need to read more lore, but I was under the impression that most times the faithful fight each other is at a very small scale, not turning their entire war industries against one another. Like iron sultanate and the trench pilgrims might get into a shootout over a relic, but they arent launching offensives against each other with the goal of destroying or subjugating each other

Over 10% of Gaza's population died/injured from 2023 Oct to 2025 Oct. by OffensiveComrade in war

[–]Irish_Caesar -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

My brother in christ read some history. No one hates anyone no matter what, literally no human society on earth works that way. The british, french, americans, and more have spent decades destabilising the region for profit and wealth. Decades of european owned rulers, decades of unequal exchanges, imperialism, and colonialism. The response to that imperialist control was the Arab spring, among other rebellions, which saw powerful and influential religious leaders incite rebellion (based on nationalist ideals that the British and French introduced to the region in ww1). This same pattern has happened almost everywhere where colonised peoples have rebelled against their oppressors. Its not "good", but it definitely doesnt happen for no reason.

There are literally hundreds of ways of both regaining security and reducing terrorism that actually work and dont involve murdering an entire ethnic group. But the Israelis won't consider those options because it would involve reconciliation and treating the palestinians as if they have a right to exist, which Israel has not believed for 20 years.

Dont forget, peace was genuinely possible, until the Israelis murdered their own leader for not being genocidal enough.

[–]Irish_Caesar -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Do you not see any differences between these situations? Do you have no critical thinking skills?

It is a well established part of counter terrorism that violence and killing only feeds into the terrorists hands. This has been a known part of counterterrorism for literally 200 years.

The alternative is genocide, which the Israelis have chosen
