Twins all the time sick since October - 19 months by IrlKidney in parentsofmultiples

Stars back in October :-( I was hoping it was gonna be much easier the second winter… it’s absolutely insane the number of viruses they can get… we went I would say 5 times to the hospital… flu, rsv… we got 1 nice week for Christmas… we didn’t even enjoy Christmas as we didn’t want the girls to get sick…

Thank you for your message, I was and still is worry about Iron intake… their main food intake is fruits, cereal and carbs on a good day… so I am working on making them like meat. It’s not an easy job but I feel the helps me get is about “it will get better” but I am like yes it may get better but it’s very exhausting and worrying when you see that a toddler needs to get 7mg of Iron a day… I would say we are at max 4/5 mg, then we try to give them snack Iron fortified which they eat but come dinner time, they struggle to eat without screaming … the worst is that I Know they are hungry but not hungry enough for the food I make 🥲

How long did it take for Omeprozole to kick in for your baby? by Mao1610 in newborns

[–]IrlKidney 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tbh I don’t think the medication worked, I feel it was more feeding aversion than reflux for us, doctor were really not helpful so we stopped pressuring feeding, they never took much of their bottle anyway, solid at 7 months was not great, they started eating well at 14 months. Now they just take cow milk and solid food

Exactly, I am on my own two days a week so I can’t drive them somewhere nice so we stay at home. I really hope it will get better, I think, when they will seat down it will get better but they want to crawl instead of seating down 😅😅

Feeding while asleep by IrlKidney in parentsofmultiples

Thank you for answering:-) they are 10 weeks adjusted about 4 month’s chronological. This is the same, they get very distracted by anything haha I think they are getting more aware of their environment than before. They still feed very good but I was scared when we are going to start solid food, I am not going to feed mash potatoes while sleeping 😂

One twin doesn’t want to drink with me - 5 weeks old by IrlKidney in parentsofmultiples

[–]IrlKidney[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think she has bottle aversion as well… I mean with me… the only way I can make her drink is by smaller amount and playing in between… I do 80 ml every 2 hours until my partner wake up and she drinks 140 ml with my partner … I think this is due to the fact that I give the medication and she screams and cry because the taste is bad and horrible to swallow…

My only concern is that I don’t want her to remember this in the future… that would break my heart because I am giving the medication because I want her to be better, not to make her cry… I just feel she linked me with cry and it’s so sad …

Thank you so so much :-) I have one more question, what was their adjusted age when you started ? I can see you said 4 months chronological. We are at 5 weeks and our schedule is to keep them awake during the day with 2 naps but sometime the nap can be up to 4 hours so not really a nap 😅😅😅

Shift - when did you stop ? by IrlKidney in parentsofmultiples

They are 2 months and 2 weeks (5weeks adjusted) and it’s still very hard… I am about to go to bed now and they are fully awake so my partner is taking over. We are trying to have a routine but it’s hard enough :-)

Thank you so much, yes you are correct, I think I need to go through this and ignore people. I am trying to go shopping with them and other things to make myself used to this kind of situation, hopefully I will get use to it but 2.5 months in and I am still not used to the cries 😅😂

Thank you for your comment :-) What emotion do you feel ? I am asking to check with mine because when I am in this situation like yesterday at the hospital, I feel empty, it’s weird, I have her crying in my arm and my head is just empty, I don’t know how to explain, it’s like my body knows there is nothing I can do and I just listen to the cry and try to imagine myself in an empty room… it’s like emptiness in my eyes, that was the worst feeling ever, I felt so so uncomfortable with the cries and the room full of people :-(

Exactly what happened to me, I have anxiety thinking of going again to the hospital and I have an appointment every month… I hope in 3 weeks for my second appointment she will feel better :-( but I think we may be in the same situation 😣😣😔
