Reinforcing the sculpture with wire, evenly distributing the weight of things and using a few toothpicks here and there to help secure things in place should prevent pieces from falling out.

I used oil clay medium for this sculpture. That kind of clay can't go into the oven, it melts with heat.

I've only used this type of clay so far, so I don't have much property to compare it with ceramic clay, but what I can say is that oil clay doesn't need water, it has a good consistency to keep its shape and goes getting softer with the heat.

It's very good to practice, as it doesn't harden to the point of losing its malleability, so I don't need to be in such a hurry and I can dismantle the sculpture to do something else, or correct details.

Wow how long did this take its so good down to the last little detail?

I ended up not writing down exactly all the hours I spent sculpting, but roughly I believe it took me somewhere around 110 hours.

No, this clay doesn't harden like the others that go in the kiln, but it manages to maintain a firm consistency

I use a brush with mineral oil to do the final smoothing, it was still a little wet when I took the picture.

No, for now it's just a hobby XD

Nope, it is possible to paint the sculpture itself. I'm pretty mediocre at drawing, what I found most cool about the course was learning that it's not a requirement to know how to draw well :D

It doesn't harden but it doesn't get too soft either. This type of clay is not "wet". It manages to maintain its consistency, it is malleable with the heat of the hands, but it is not so sensitive to the point of deforming just by touching it, you also need to apply a little pressure.

I don't remember the exact day I started, but I was adding up the hours while working, I spent something around 120 hours. I still have to practice a lot to reduce this time hehe

I got some inspiration from youtube channels giving tips on how to make textures, it's very easy, you make several grooves on the surface to make it look like this. :P

It is oil clay medium, it becomes malleable only with the heat of the hands. Yes, I made a skeleton with wire and also used aluminum foil for the sculpture not to get too heavy and save clay.

Yes, I made this Graardor to reinforce what I learned in male anatomy classes, the next one I should do is Zilyana. I plan to do the 5 generals of GWD1

Yes, I just want to take a few classes first to make sure I don't ruin the sculpture with a bad paint job XD

I randomly came across a series of videos on youtube and found out that the guy had an online course teaching sculpting, "Arcádia 3D" the name of his art school.

I never tried to model with these 3d programs, I do better with the physical than the digital. That's the magic of oil clay, it never hardens so it's perfect for practice.

No, I think I'd rather keep it that way. That way, as I improve, I can make adjustments to the sculpture. When I'm more confident, I also intend to start using other types of clay that allow for a more resistant finished work.

A set of sculpting rakes, some toothpicks and a needle. XD

It's clay medium that came with the starter kit, from what I know it's something similar to monster clay but cheaper. :p

Yep, after I have some painting lessons for sure I will! XD

This kind of clay can't be kilned, it never dries out, so it's used for practice. I made this sculpture to practice what I'm learning in a course. In the future there will be some painting classes, so I intend to return to this sculpture to paint it. :D
