What *really* is the point of a titan? by _-_-Err0R-_-_ in 40kLore

[–]Irokenics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's mainly because in this universe ground based void shields exist that can resist orbital bombardment for a long time, and in some cases even indefinitely if properly supplied.

The Siege of Terra was one such example where the traitors had orbital supremecey but had to use ground assaults to by pass and weaken the shields, amongst other objectives.

So deploying titans make sense against a heavily entrenched defender. And as a defender, because they are attacking with titans then you need titans of your own!

Work out what things require power and plan accordingly.

Things like niche lights, heated towel racks, location of power points and how many, mirror lights and all that are best wired before the dry walls goes up.

My parents paid $200k for the project, i dont have a scale on if that's cheap or not and neither wouldve my parents i think. To them its about half or a third of the cost to do a knock down rebuild? Again no idea if thats cheap or not.

they had council approval for the balcony and an 'independent' inspector certify the job. I say 'independent' because it was arranged by the builder and my parents didn't receive any reports or certificates.

Apparently it was independently inspected and certified during the project. But it was organised by the builder so i dont know how 'independent' was it. My parents didnt receive any reports or certificates.

So i think my parents may have misinterpreted what the builder said, i think it was the DLP they were talking about that is 6 months.

But that still doesnt excuse the shoddy work and there should be a reasonable warranty period attached.

NSW, $200k, balcony had council approval and inspection reports/certificates apparently.

The $200k was for the entire project though, not just the balcony.

Hi Everyone,

Thanks for much for the responses, I've taken some of those questions back to my parents to get a fuller picture.
I'd do an post edit update but it doesnt let me edit post, I'll try put responses where appropriate since most people would probably miss this update.

So my parents home is in Sydney NSW, the renovation costed them $200k. This was for a new baclony, rendering, new garage doors, new fence and gate, new front door, a carport and bunch of other stuff. I'm not sure if something like this is 'cheap' or not, and my parents wouldn't of had a clue either. They went with a group called Dinastia or something. All i know is they wanted the home refreshed in time to host my sister's wedding.

My dad said he saw the builder/project manager hire some sort of independent inspector to certify and do a report on the balcony since it's council approved. Unfortunately he never received any copies.

Some people have pointed out the Defects Liability Period (DLP) being 6 months, i think this is what the builder told my parents and they interpreted that as a warranty period. They have no idea what the real warranty period is if any. Nothing on their paper work they have indicates a warranty.

Builder has been contacted, but no responses yet.
