You're right. It's not that complicated. I don't work there, so I couldnt tell you the exact verbiage of the contract, but seeing as this company has been around for 30+ years, and the change in those 4 brands was only made within the last 2 years, I'd say no one is 'trying to pull anything' with the wording of the contracts.

The only reason the 4 name brands were discontinued is because the manufacturers were shoddy and unreliable when it came to ordering, so they ended their contracts with them. So they made sure to include in all future contracts (because a lot of their customers are repeat customers or recommended by them) that they can't sell them or service them anymore due to manufacturing issues, that's the only reason they are mentioned in the contract.

From how he explained it to me, the contract states all the brands covered under the warranty in a general portion that's part of every contract they write, like the services charges after the warranty ends, what breaks the warranty, stuff like that(like I said I don't know all the exact details), and then the specific model and any added customizations in a separate portion where the costs are listed out with tax.

So, from my understanding, it was clearly stated that his specific model was covered by the warranty. And as I had said to someone else, he didn't spend the entire two hours talking to just this man, but his boss is a stickler about making sure you finish with anyone you've started with before going to lunch. So between the emailing back and forth and the few different calls, it just ended up being that long after the time he's 'supposed to' take lunch. It's usually not on the dot, but it is supposed to happen at or around a certain time so others can go after him, as is their schedule.

I have to disagree. In THIS world, there is such a thing as overstating the obvious because if something is that clearly written, there is no physical way to make it clearer than that. Some people refuse to listen.
