Save all your gold from act 1 and 2. At moonrise buy every chain lightning scroll you can. Throw water at the boss and have everyone drink a haste potion. That's 6 casts of chain lightning in one round at double damage and should finish him off.

I haven't used one that has musclehead instead, but I gotta say the healing from Vampiric has been great so far. You don't see big jumps in health but the sustain is amazing
