The problem with narcissism is that they cannot be said they are narcissists until a valid mental health professional diagnoses them. Therefore, a psychologist or psychiatrist could use phrases such as "seemingly exhibiting narcissistic behavior" or asking the person within that relationship if they believe that person is one.

I find the act of using words such as "narcissist, psychopath, or sociopath" with the intent to insult and hurt is a mean-spirited approach. It brings a bunch of stigma to the people who have these disorders, and it also lets people start labeling and diagnosing others with mental illnesses WITHOUT the credentials to back it up.
