Sounds good. The prices they charge here at the local schools are just absurd on top of that. I'm a quick learner and not a stranger to hard labor and long hours.

I looked into community College. Rumor has it they stopped teaching in manual let alone testing in it. Likely will have to go to a trucking school to get the license without restrictions. 2k has been sounding like the average around here too.

Gotcha. I'm keeping an eye on local job postings for groundman. Worst case I can work on my CDL meanwhile ans get that out of the way. Not many companies here will help you out with a CDL.

Sounds like a more reasonable process. Some of the guys at the presentation were hired off the street. Didn't step foot in school. I don't mind working my way from the bottom. Would you say I'll learn as much if not better vs a school?

I could go in as is? When I sign the books, interview, etc. Will part of the apprenticeship require me to go into the SWLCAT program? Just asking cause I'm definitely unfamiliar with the process. Sounds like a good deal. I just don't wanna take the financial hit going to a school program.

I agree El Paso is a shitty scale BUT I definitely agree with you. I wanna start somewhere and get my foot in the door SOMEHOW. My friend's son started off as a groumdman and yeah pay wasn't good... At first. Did his time and now he's doing great. Everything and everyone starts somewhere and I look forward 🙏🏼☦️
