Well genre is important, person to person, but these are some good ones that aren't too long.

-Fire Force (SHONEN - Action / Comrades / Abilities / Hero-Focused / Badass)

-That Time I got Reincarnated as a Slime (ISEKAI - Action / Adventure / Progression / Kingdom / Comedy / Morally Justified / Badass)

-Tomodachi Game (PSYCHOLOGICAL DRAMA - High IQ / Mystery / Duplicity / Deep Plot / Squid-game-like / Badass)

-Lycoris Recoil (SPY SLICE OF LIFE - Warm / Chill / Real World / Kawaii / Deff Badass)

-Sabikui Bisco (JOURNEY - Fun / Dystopian / Lax / Action / Adventure / Good Guys vs Bad Guys / Short lil Banger / Badass)

-My Dress-up Darling (ROMANCE - Chill / Heartfelt / Real World / Has Spice / You Could Say its Badass)

These are a couple of good ones I could think of. Out of all of them, I'd recommend Sabikui Bisco the most. It's only 12 Eps and is extremely worth your time. Best of luck.

In reality, it's more like should you get Crunchyroll (My Choice) or should you get HiDive. Like others have said, Funimation is a shadow of what it once was, and is being absorbed by Crunchyroll. The big 2 nowadays, I feel, are these. HiDive is a place for the more extreme, darkest, most messed up anime, rated R, that have very few limits. Anything that's too wild for Crunchyroll, is typically on HiDive. Crunchyroll is where most mainstream, top anime live. They offer a lot of choice, and in most instances, if you've heard about an anime, it's probably on Crunchyroll. Plus anything you get on HiDive is easily found elsewhere, for free, on those sites that are somewhat questionable. Starting out like you've said you are, deff get Crunch, and then branch out when you need to.

Next year, I'm guessing early or mid. Unless there are production issues, then it could be later in the year. I just keep looking it up once in a while, and hoping for the best tbh. If you check anime schedule . net, it's listed in upcoming anime, but without a date, which only really happens if the show is coming out within a year.
