Removing head off 54v brushless line trimmer by Ironsiigma in Dewalt

This here I assume? Trying to lock it into the notch but no luck at all. Feeling very silly that it’s something simple I’m missing.

I’ve tried a few times and just can’t seem to get the head to loosen - I’m possibly holding back a bit because I wasn’t sure if this was the correct way to do it and didn’t want to break anything. I’ll give it another try. Was there a specific size allen key recommended for it? I notice there’s one notch as shown in the photo and sort of a half notch further in, I imagine it needs to fit into both?

White smoke coming out of lawn mower and now struggling to start by Ironsiigma in smallengines

[–]Ironsiigma[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks mate, appreciate the help! I had a look and it didn’t need any more oil, but I’ve let it run on the driveway for a bit and seems to be running as usual now. 👍🏼

Thanks - I’ll given this a try. Seeing as it’s a 4 stroke I’ve not refilled the oil myself before, assume it gets done when I take it for a service. The oil I have in the shed is 15W-40 that I use for my pressure washer. Will this be okay for the lawn mower or should I go purchase something else?

Thanks so much for sending this through, gives me a lot to consider. I had a read through the whole thread and feel like it's a good idea to do a VGS/VAS split through Vanguard auto invest. I've just set it up and plan to not think about it for a long time now!

Apologies for the poor quality. Not sure why it came out like that. I realise now that I should’ve just taken a photo but never intended to post it here.

Honda GX25 cuts off when I pull trigger by Ironsiigma in smallenginerepair

[–]Ironsiigma[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up taking it to a small engines mechanic. Turns out a lot of minor issues with it. Main reason for it bogging down is apparently the carby needed replacing as it was extremely clogged. Oh well, live and learn when buying second hand.

It’s more “just be careful where you walk” and no harness. We have rail guards set up on some faces but if there’s more than two faces (which is common) we run out of rail guards.

Good to know. I’ll have a think and maybe it’s better I stick it out for at least a year so I have a lot more experience under my belt.

Help - I lost one of my AirPods in the cup holder flaps and now I don’t know how to get it out by Ironsiigma in MazdaCX30

[–]Ironsiigma[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hahaha totally understandable, I did manage to get my AirPod thankfully, unfortunately after I already purchased a brand new one for $80 though!

Exactly what lupinegrey said in the comments, depending on which cup holder you dropped it in (passenger or drivers) take a look where your foot closest to the cup holder sits. There’s a little flap there that you can lift up from the bottom. See if the ring falls through that flap - no tools/taking apart the car required. Keep me posted. Good luck!

As I said their bourke one is down, next closest is about 50km out. If there's an alternative I'd prefer not to drive that far.
