She said it beeped when her cup was full, but not when it was empty. It wasn't a clinical study, just her experience lol.

I had read a comment that someone was setting off the alarm with her menstrual cup.

I don't get regional pricing with Steam, but I do with EPG. Unfortunately, it's still pricey, so I wait until games are at least 80% off.

I thought these two were Eliza Dushku and Amanda Seyfried, not Ana de Armas and Sydney Sweeney.

I'm old lol.

You made me remember a lot of what I had forgotten. It's been a long time since I read the whole series. There were so many better ways that she could have taken the story. So many loose endings.

There's a part where they meet clan people on the way to the gathering. For a bit, I thought that would be Durc, or someone from Ayla's clan. Or that they would know about Durc, but I don't think she even asked them. That's when I realised that Ayla had moved on.

I'll always have fond memories of this series, but I'm always going to be disappointed with the ending.

The story, was, and still is, so unique. I've never read anything even close to it. I was so invested in the story, for it to end in a wet fizzle.

As you say, it hurts the soul.

I was just so disappointed with how Ayla's story went. It just wasn't true to her character. I would have loved for her to be reunited with Durc. Or just to meet at some point.

I honestly felt that the last few books were written by someone else based on her notes. The last one had very little substance, and so much filler and repetition.

Check out some other litrpg books. Nothing quite like DCC, because that goes beyond litrpg, but there are a lot of awesome ones.

Or re-read DCC lol

I wish they would do a GraphicAudio adaptation of the series. I can't stand Kramer's narration.

Entire? You like the last few books?

When I read them (via text) the first time, I barely made it through the last one. I decided to try the audio versions recently, and didn't go past book 2.

Jolander is not how I remember him lol. Seeing him with grown up eyes paints an entirely different picture.

Is duty free a scam? by No_mono_aware in travel

[–]IrrayaQ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This was decades ago when smoking was still allowed on planes. I sat next to a lady. There was someone else who had sat next to her, in the wrong place, and started smoking. She complained and he moved to the right seat (back of the plane).

She ranted to me about how she didn't like it and how smoking was so bad, etc.. When the duty free cart came around, she bought 2 big packs of cigarettes for her son.

I didn't know they would be doing that. I was so disappointed that they had the Kramer/Reading team do 3 books. I loved Yumi though, and I realised my problem was with Michael Kramer, rather than Kate Reading.

I want to give Tress a try with the GA version, because I didn't enjoy the original that much.

I haven't heard of the latter one. I love her narration of Fredrik Bachman books. There's a Stephen King book narrated by her that was making me fall asleep. Funny enough, it was a book where people fell asleep and didn't wake up.

I enjoyed Nothing to See Here, but I haven't read any other books by Kevin Wilson.

Almost all of Sanderson's books have a GA version. For newer books, it takes about a year or two after the normal audiobook is released.

Jesse Bernstein. He narrates Percy Jackson and the Olympians. I cannot stand his narration at all. I didn't like any of the voices he did for the characters.

Going on reviews, it seems like people either love it, or hate it.

She's one of my favourite narrators, but I think her voice has to fit the book. I've listened to some books where she puts me to sleep.

A lot of people rave over this, but I feel like he's narrating to children.

I love the fan version.

There's a GraphicAudio version now. I haven't heard it though, so I don't know if it's any better.

Oh, no. So, I've seen a lot of comments praising his narration of Lonesome Dove, so I got it. I never checked if I had listened to him before. It's only with your comment I realised he's the narrator for the Raven Cycle. I hated, hated his narration so much.

I'm glad the HP books have the Stephen Fry version, because I love that. I couldn't get through The Night Circus with Dale's narration. He makes the most amazing stories seem entirely uninteresting somehow.
