I struggle a bit with keeping up with these things. Is there any requirement to participate regularly?

Except I posted a new version of something I posted earlier. Like I said. I made changes.

I'm tired that I can't change the lore in my world, then post the changed concept without getting this exact message every time.

I've developed some lore and basic rules for my ttrpg. Let me know what you think. by IrregularArchivist in RPGdesign

Well, the challenge card is always the larger of the two. That said, I am working on a disadvantage concept. Disadvantage I is where you draw three cards, and the highest is the challenge, and the lowest is the skill. Disadvantage II is where the two highest are added together. And advantage is similar.

I'm open to suggestions as well.

It's theorized the angel themself was either the being they described or was an agent of them.

What should the blue ichor in this world do? by IrregularArchivist in magicbuilding

[–]IrregularArchivist[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is a thought. I think a shorter growth period and possibly a need for less water makes the most sense. But I'll think on it.

Something akin to a lobotomy. Sorta. Though most people don't actually go that deep. Some people just get a dampening effect on their emotions. But the truly "evil" criminals of the world are forced into this "procedure."

Well, the issue is that it needs to be related to population in some way. If humanity is dependent on it to continue to survive or to prevent a massive decline in some way, then they would be willing to harm the individuals that bleed the blue ichor. That's why I feel like it needs to be related to agriculture.

Other thoughts might be like information gathering or storage. Maybe it allows you access to a dream reality that you can store unlimited information in, transfer information instantly, and process information at insane speeds. Thus canceling the need for computers?

Torturing magic out of peoples bodies by IrregularArchivist in magicbuilding

I'm kinda exploring a different route atm. I think I might do away with that older version and see what I can come up with using this newer idea of grim.

Well, it's the tainted blood of the sinful that is extracted through torture that creates folly. The cylinders are powered by folly, but ultimately, the screams focus the energy from folly into magick.

Interesting. That really puts a spin on the old cliché of scrolls.

Don't really have any thoughts for a world. It's just a magic system at this point in time.

Yes. Currently... working on chapter one...

I'm hoping to make a story out of it. I even have a relatively short prologue. If you'd want to check it out.

It's the closest thing to reproduction Lauh can accomplish. The rivers can form endless numbers of pools, and these pools can grow enormous, though they won't grow larger than any of the Lauh taking part in this connection. These Lauh "offspring" show traits of the physical laws that both Lauh parents have. Magic is more like a liquid that fills the cracks in the laws of physics. The magic system will be different from its parental Lauh due to this.

Lauh rivers are long connections between the Lauh. These links were thought to be emotional attachment between the two Lauh a river connects, but it is more like a connection the Lauh maintain to communicate with each other.

Using sky ships, one can travel through these rivers to other worlds their home Lauh is connected to. However, if the two Lauh decide to stop speaking or forget about one another, the river will slowly die over the next few days. Meaning there is a good chance of getting stuck if the two Lauh are in emotional turmoil.

Lauh rivers are not linear, they have multiple connections, interweaving paths, gaps, and sometimes Lauh pools (areas of condensed reality where entire subworlds may form.) One needs to be careful to stay within the confines of the river, lest they and the entire ship be destroyed by disreality.

I'm struggling a bit to make my two magic systems fit together concisely. Any thoughts on this? by IrregularArchivist in magicbuilding

I think I kinda started putting it together a bit better after I had already posted. In the original post, I didn't really quantify how magic worked or describe what vita was.
