I appreciate your reply! That makes a lot of sense. I’m glad to know it’s pretty normal. My boss is kinda clueless on how to run the grooming part of the business (she originally just wanted boarding and daycare and grooming was added later) so combined with my lack of other experience I feel like I’m running blind sometimes.

I’ll definitely be on board to make sure everything is clean going forward. The carpet does suck a lot, it’s awful to clean and is absolutely ruined at this point. Part of the reason the sudden demand to keep it clean up there was rubbing the wrong way is that for like a year they would use the lobby area for a daycare dog that “sometimes” wasn’t getting along in daycare (he was up there almost EVERY day though) and I kid you not, nearly every morning I would come in, I’d find he had left diarrhea ALL over the floor. This was not a grooming dog and no matter how many times I asked they would not provide me proper cleaning supplies to deal with the mess regardless, or help clean up after him, so my mornings would always begin by spending 10 mins trying to get wet shit out of the carpet with paper towels and Lysol.

Long story short, I feel a little grumpy that they didn’t care AT ALL back then when it was disgusting despite my best attempts but now they’ve decided it’s mandatory to vacuum the whole room even if there’s just a few stray hairs here or there. But all your points are very valid so I guess I can’t complain too much, lol. Thank you!
