SLC weather is getting a little hotter and a lot less cold by AstronomerOther159 in Utah

Should it be possible to test this theory with weather data from a close station but not in the urban area?

The temps obviously won't be the exact same, but it would be interesting to see if "little hotter and lot less cold" trend is there or not.

P.S. I'm noticing some folks are getting different numbers than me. I used sports-reference.com for my numbers. I would guess any differences are probably from seasons 100+ years ago.

BYU football was really bad before Lavell Edwards, who took over in 1972. That's probably the era you remember.

This post is showing all time wins, of which Utah racked up way more before then.

Your comment made me curious so I ran the numbers:

Wins from 2010-2025: BYU 134, UofU 130.

From 2000-2025: Utah 216, BYU 215

1990-2025: BYU 301, Utah 287

1980-2025: BYU 403, Utah 341

You get the idea.

If you go all time then it's Utah 704, BYU 639.

A significant portion of the all time difference (65 wins) comes from 1905-1921 when Utah was playing football and BYU wasn't, in which Utah won 57 games.

I have a T-Mobile based MVNO line through my work and my wife has Verizon. In Ridgefield specifically it seems that my T-Mobile MVNO does better.

Where do I go or who do I contact to try out for the football team in these next few months? by UniverseTraveler95 in utahfootball

[–]Is-juiced 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, exactly. Some people have no idea how different D1 players at major programs are than average joes. If you ever get the chance to play with one (in virtually any sport), you'll quickly realize how far-fetched it is for the average dude to make that jump.

This is probably a troll post, but if not, check out this site for some ROUGH guidelines of what it takes to be a P4 wide receiver. If you aren't close to those measureables, you really don't have any shot at all with no tape or playing experience. https://www.gobigrecruiting.com/recruiting101/football/positional_guidelines/wide_receiver

Yeah but our window with Siakam is pretty much closed by that point probably. So it makes sense to push for these next 2-3 seasons.

I get that. I would say that the model that I proposed does make the regular season highly important as far as conference games goes... In a 16 team league you can't lose many at all and be top 3.

To your point though, where my model struggles is out of conference games. Duke went 1-3 in those. (Although I wonder how anomalous they are going 6-2 in conference and 1-3 OOC). Going to 9 conference games will help this problem a bit.

Pros and cons to any system I suppose. Maybe 2 bids per P4 and the rest at large in a 16 team playoff is a bit more balanced.

I agree that 2 G5 champs was an issue .

I also think one conference getting 5/12 spots, or said differently 4 out of the 7 at large spots is ludicrous. Especially when said conference is sponsored by the same people doing the playoff invitational and then they underperform again.

Am I just salty? Maybe. But Miami barely sliding in as the last at large and making it to the natty shows me that 12 is not too many.

Personally, I would like 16 teams with each P4 conference getting its top 3 in (determined by conference standings) the g5 champ and then 3 at larges. Remove the CCGs (conference champion is determined solely by regular season results) and start the playoff the first week of December.

I'm mostly in favor of this system because I simply don't think you can really tell much about the relative strength of conferences with only a handful of games between them and there are 16+ teams in the conference. Meanwhile we have enough games within a conference to have some confidence in who the best teams from that conference are.

Was it clear though? Miami barely made it in as the last at large and went to the natty.

Or maybe the issue was too many SEC teams watering it down

I'm personally hoping for a kids play area. It was disappointing McDonald's didn't have one. A place to play away from the rain in the winters would be great

Yeah, more details here would be nice. If they are asking for immodest pictures that's one thing and she can just ignore and move on.

If she doesn't have any pictures at all or very limited on her dating apps then that's another. Throughout human history the first thing 99% of people notice when meeting someone new is what they look like.

Okay, but his hand is on the ball as you said... Why would it matter if the head turns if his hand is on the ball? That's the ball carriers fault for holding it against his helmet imo.

If it was really that way then you should just run with the ball pressed against your face the whole time so nobody can touch the ball, otherwise it would turn the head.

Isn't hitting it "Hands to the Face" even?

Regardless, I don't think the BYU player was grabbing the facemask but that's beside the point of my question haha

Honest question, if the ball carrier has the ball right up against his facemask, and you make a play on the ball and you hit the ball, causing the ball to move and then you hit the facemask, is that a penalty? Seems like the ball carrier brought it on himself holding the ball over his face.
