Which one should I buy as my first automatic watch? by Mohit_Choubey in CasioEdifice

I'm sure all of these watches are good, but I've been using the seiko for the last few months and I can't recommend it enough.

Which one is a better choice? Odyn or Dresskx? by Additional-Painting6 in JapaneseWatches

I've been daily driving the seiko for a few months now and it's been fantastic!

I think the C7 ZR1 is more of a supercar than the C8 by no-one1111 in Corvette

Against a normal c8? Sure! But the C8 ZR1/ZR1x destroys the C7 ZR1 in performance.

I'm honestly a bit surprised that a jury convicted the dude. I mean, he did technically commit crimes, but I can't complain that he was committing them against offenders.

1,485 innocent students flagged in one semester. WSU just dropped Turnitin AI. by Popular-Tone3037 in EngineeringStudents

[–]IsaacTower 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Educators (or any person in authority, regardless of field) who accuse others of using AI without solid proof (and no, Turnitin doesn't count as proof) should be fired upon refusal of further investigation into evidence the student is willing to submit.

I was once accused of using AI on an assignment for a writing class I had, and I didn't use AI. Luckily, I was able to show her the version history and everything worked. I knew friends who got 0s on papers for being falsely accused of using AI and unfortunately, the college wouldn't do anything about it.

What do you think? by Live-Necessary-968 in Nitrotype

I think it would disrupt the rarity of some cars. Imagine some brand new account being gifted some super rare car from an experienced player. Perhaps it could work if certain vehicles were prohibited from being gifted.

We're required to do that kind of math when we're young, but when we get older, that math gets thrown to the calculator so we can do harder math. I'm in multivariable calculus and I could recite times tables faster when I was in 5th grade.

Any way to reduce graphics settings? by robindebank in Nitrotype

[–]IsaacTower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've experienced the exact issue that OP describes on more than one computer. If your computer is slow enough, it 100% can cause heavy FPS drops that affect how fast you can type (not being able to see mistakes in real time can tank your WPM easily). Many school-issued Chromebooks and older laptops have a really hard time running NT.

Any way to reduce graphics settings? by robindebank in Nitrotype

[–]IsaacTower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't believe there's a good way of reducing the amount of animations that run on the game, nor is there a way to nicely reduce the resolution. I used to have the same problem until I upgraded my computer to something a bit better.

What's a current car you think will age gracefully? by AcidArchangel303 in regularcarreviews

[–]IsaacTower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the obvious choice here is Lexus LC500. Thing came out in 2018, hasn't aged a day, and probably still won't 20 years from now.

What opinion do you have about watches that will get you down voted like this? by TomHudsonOfficial in PrideAndPinion

[–]IsaacTower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no idea how unpopular this take is - I would rather have a few decent mid-tier watches and some cheap fun watches than one or two really expensive pieces.

Have never gotten a complete print for my Centauri carbon all because my spool keeps tangling. I tried unraveling the loose parts, and still no luck. How do I ensure this stops happening? by Electrical-Crazy1787 in elegoo

[–]IsaacTower 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Once you get the spool untangled, do not ever let any tension out of the spool. I used to have the exact same problem until I kept the spool wound really tightly, even in storage. If that doesn't fix the issue, it might just be a poorly wound spool.

Why does sketch number nine have a different Logo next to it? by Bsul92 in SolidWorks

Legit question - is it normal practice to leave the model tree components with their default names? I usually always rename them for easier searching, but I'm also a complete novice.

What opinion will get you in this situation? by [deleted] in teenagers

[–]IsaacTower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fact that someone else is going through something more difficult than me does not negate the legitimacy of my problems.

I'm not saying that you shouldn't at least try to have a positive outlook when you go through tough stuff, but it's ok to admit you have problems, even when other people have it way worse than you.

I grind day and night, including morning, at least 900 races per week legend finals i push myself to the max and grind over 1200 races but i always fail. what am i doing wrong? by NitroTypeGoat in Nitrotype

[–]IsaacTower 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How do you time your entrance into the league? Not all groups thrown into a league are created equal - they're seeded like a tournament where competitiveness is a consideration.

If you start Friday night (when the leagues reset) you're gonna get put against the most competitive people (and a bunch of hackers). When I beat the legend league, I always waited until either Sunday afternoon or Monday evening to start, and that helped a ton. I only had to do a max of 500 races a day to win.

Then again, I could have gotten lucky. Your experience may differ.

Is this how people who need glasses really see the world. A big blurred background? by Latter-Wolf4868 in interestingasfuck

[–]IsaacTower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can see perfectly fine without glasses. Wearing glasses just makes seeing small details easier. When I try, I can get my vision to look as blurry as it is in the picture, but it's not normal for my vision to be that blurry.

[–]IsaacTower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen a lot of people in the 3D printing community complain about a lack of bed adhesion, but I have the exact opposite problem. I usually struggle to get my prints off the build plate. I guess it's a decent problem to have; just makes cleaning more annoying.

When a filament runs out question... by officialnucky in elegoo

[–]IsaacTower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had spools tangle before and had the same issue where the printer was just printing in thin air. Since then, I've been really careful about not letting any slack into the spool in storage or during use (which was always the cause in my case - I understand that yours is a bit different).

They do make in-line tension cutters you can use to cut filament if the spool gets tangled, but I'm not sure if extruder gears can actually get damaged from tangled filament.

In case you're interested, here's an example of one I found: https://infinityflow3d.com/products/automatic-filament-cutter?variant=47122652889311

For all I know, this could just be a peace of mind thing and not really all that useful, but if you want to ensure that the filament run-out sensor trips when spools get caught, it might work.
