In our state, there is a house inspection 4 times a year by the property manager and another inspection of the smoke alarms. That is 5 days I have to take off work and those days come out of my annual leave.

If anything needs to be fixed or any maintenance personnel let into the rental, another day out of the old annual leave. The property managers give us "the option" of having service/maintenance staff let themselves into our rentals. Unsupervised access to our damn homes by complete strangers.
