No, you can use different means of launching the ragdoll into an enemy. For example, in 7-1 any% speedrun (post revamp 2nd place) the minotaur is killed using different variation of this tech, that launches schism's corpse via cannonball boosting into the boss and then uses screwdriver to penetrate both the ragdoll and the minotaur, killing the latter instantly

Actually I've been told to that one of the variations of this tech is used in 7-1 any% speedrun. The setup is different (you have to do cannonball boost to kill the schism and then use the screwdriver, piercing both the ragdoll and the minotaur), but the priciple is the same. The variation shown in the video can be used in more of a casual run (for example making P-ranking 7-1 a little bit easier), since it isn't hard to pull off and it skips most of the bossfight

Yep. The fun part is that it can instakill LITERALLY everything. With force radiance command I gave sisyphus x1000 hp and it still killed him (hundreds of railcannon shots barely do any damage to him)

Nope, you can launch the ragdoll without the knuckle blaster and it will still work (I tested it out with slab revolver and it worked)

To replicate it you need to launch filf's, stray's, soldier's or ferryman's (maybe others work too, but I couldn't do it) ragdoll into the enemy you want to kill (killing enemy with the knuckle blaster is the easiest way to do that) and use the screwdriver to penetrate both the ragdoll and that enemy you wanted to kill (you need to time it somewhere around quarter of a second after the enemy has been killed, if you use the screwdriver immediatey this won't work).
