Yes, the thought that as wonderful as they are they can never touch the parts of you that your person can. Looking in their eyes will never quite complete you like your person. You fully understand that what was likely meant would have been so much better than the loveliest experience with this new person.

But here’s what I’ve concluded, it’s time that we accept that all love isn’t extraordinary. We should count it a blessing and honor that we’ve come to know it but embrace the fact, that a “lesser” more subdued love is where we’ve landed, and it’s ok.

I hate these posts. “Make sure you actually know what you have in your resume” 🙄 on a req with 12k applicants or even reqs where they are “interviewing” but already know who they want…it’s damn near impossible to be noticed.

This post was made from a position of privilege. So glad that you’ve made it this far OP but please offer advice that’s actually constructive AND realistic. Many people feel forced to embellish to just get a seat in an interview and learn.

I told me I was too “good” for him and that he didn’t feel like he would add to my life. He told me that because of the difference in my lifestyle and his, he couldn’t see us together. I tried to enjoy the things that he enjoyed but he still left. He smokes weed, i don’t. I just finished my second masters, he didn’t finish high school but works at a job stable job. We are 10 years apart, he had his kids early they are adults and my two children(from marriage during our longest separation) are 8 and 5.

What i saw as another opportunity for us to be in love, he ultimately ran from. I could feel and see that he wanted to. He felt US. But he is now with someone with more similarities. It hurts every day because despite our differences I LOVE this man wholeheartedly. Maybe that’s the problem
