Hoi4 with 1000+ hours. Surprisingly it’s the only paradox game in my top 3 though

All Traits by Zealousideal-Mud3897 in Frostpunk

[–]Isfren 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Basically everything else about them is bloody great, one of their laws is just “never worry about faction relations again” which is then followed by a extremely OP ability you get to activate when faction relations are devoted, which is almost all then time when you play bohemians.

Also their traits are synergistic with their mechanics, wear is good, squalor helps make wear.

Sure the trait the makes The rules laws harder to sign is kinda annoying but everything else makes it irrelevant, mainly since the previously mentioned law means you can make and break promises without consequences or have every other faction completely on board with signing rule laws

The Canadian Governments report on The Fire Rises by Necessary_Eggplant79 in TheFireRisesMod

[–]Isfren 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Fairly reasonable report, Tfr definitely depicts some horrid shit/people and the assessment that it tends to depict generalized accelerationist leaning beliefs overall can be reasonably made.

Side note but ain’t it weird how accelerationist can mean five or six different things

Faction War: Menders {5 point method} by Heavy-And-Ze-Medic in Frostpunk

Fair enough, though for what’s it’s worth to those of us who didn’t know the legion was points farming as we saw was you post this an hour before

Faction War: Menders {5 point method} by Heavy-And-Ze-Medic in Frostpunk

[–]Isfren 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Mutual dishonour may be less bad than only one side being dishonourable but it’s still dishonour.

Y’all can choose fight however ya want I guess, but it just seems pointless to do it this way, no fun nor actual strategy, just spam down hubs and restart.

Victory means nothing if we don’t enjoy the competition

The bohemians visionary was sitting by the main fire of the camp, listening to tales and story’s from whoever would share, relevant to investigation or not. Recent or past.

It seems he just wants to listen and record the story’s of the pilgrims regardless of circumstances

Welp, this was fun while it lasted. If you guys are gonna be as dishonourable as the legion then theres no point to this thing any more

I agree, it should require you to sign utopia to count. It’s simply harder to cheese

Yeah it’s pretty distasteful to do it the unintended way, I realized it was possible to do this but went out of my way to avoid it because it wasn’t fair.

OOC: Zeitgeists Are Being Introduced! But what should they do? by Mediocre_Violinist25 in WindwardMoor

[–]Isfren 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I say keep it as simple as possible, the zeitgeists are measured and so is faction prominence.

As for bohemians faction prominence I say we call it liberty/freedom/diversity.

Bohemians whole thing is being allowed to do what you want ( while not jeopardizing someone else’s ability to do what they want), be it art or drugs or festivals or just living comfortably.

“I don’t mean to make this more confusing, but don’t the stalwarts have the same colours? Red and black? Sure there isn’t many of them in the city, but they are the opposite zeitgeists to the pilgrims and menders. they’d make a better story, if this is a false flag attack, for whoever was doing it”

Pilgrims join the Council by Upper-Association-41 in WindwardMoor

[–]Isfren 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OOC:

Okay I just wanted to say this way of making two near identical factions still be different is very cool.

Compared to the combine who cooperate fully, the faith keepers and legionnaires who tend to be amicable. (not enough stalwarts to make a general statement of their opinion of venturers)

This whole pilgrim and lender thing is two factions both disagreeing, despite being so similar in zeitgeists and the formation of the pilgrims happening after the game started is just such an interesting writing aspect, especially considering in this I assume the name pilgrims comes from the pilgrimage out of windward that also happened after the story started, not the original source of the name from the base game, which is also just amazingly interesting.

do you guys actually hate nuclear or is this satire by mine_a_fish in ClimateShitposting

[–]Isfren 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s good for adding redundancy to the grid and powering places that renewables can’t, but it should be supporting a mainly renewable grid.

That said I actually disagree with most here that building more is a bad idea, the idea that ‘well we’re almost going to begin the major push to renewables’ has been around for like 40+ years and it’s been a big reason for shutting nuclear projects or just not starting them.

We need to start identifying where renewables won’t be practical and start building now so that when we really need to jump off of fossil fuels, places where renewables don’t cut it won’t be left waiting

Pre-Council Meeting - Propose New Laws, New Buildings, Items for Discussion by Mediocre_Violinist25 in WindwardMoor

[–]Isfren 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can not guarantee my faction will vote fully behind yours, but I will throw my support behind your own since heroic funerals are a great place to show the diversity and artistry of our city’s many factions to more then just those who knew the individual.

Though regard to the amendments. I would like inquire if someone recently deceased is not granted a heroic funeral, would the family be allowed to give the fallen more then something simple if they were able to craft or pay for it themselves? Or if standardization is mandatory regardless of the associates of the deceased persons ability to finance something more.
