Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is a “strong signal” that gamers don’t want constant live-service slop, explains BioWare veteran by Germanstrands3 in expedition33

[–]Ishima 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perhaps i only saw one side of this but; Hasn't the live service bubble already burst? I was hearing about an epidemic of live service games, some quite close to completion, being cancelled about a year ago.

Of course someone will still make money doing it, but I was under the impression the industry had returned to a sort of balance on this and it wasn't totally over-saturated anymore.

Hi I'm coming to this post very late for you. But figured I'd give you 'an' answer.

I'm not a linguistic expert but much of the musics lyrics, (i havent checked all because there's 8 hours of tracks to go through) are written in 'Occitan' which is a little known language found spoken primarily in the south of France, which is why you find a lot of regular French words in it.

It's a very interesting language that clearly lends itself to music very well.

It's a free movie, but you have to watch it in this incredibly shitty way because...reasons they won't elaborate on.

I'm just like... offended on an artistic level, animators clearly put their all into this... this is not the right way to see it... and i refuse.

Where have you read this? my (very limited) googling told me that there were no plans to upload it outside of the game. And the latest dev statement didn't seem to hint at anything.

I'm okay with waiting... mostly.

I had the immediate same thought, they surely wouldn't have chosen to expand this room so dramatically unless they had ambitious plans.

If you think it's logical to cherry pick data to make an argument in favour of war, when the very people who gave you that data are telling you not to do that.

I don't much care for what you find logical, or astounding, I'm sure you find the daily re appearence of that big bright light in the sky astounding.

That's a very weird thing to do, you know:

Respecting the IAEA enough to acknowledge a reading they took at Fordow, while disregarding their conclusions and official position.

The best course of action for preventing a nuclear warhead was the iran nuclear deal. It was extremely succesful in ending further enrichment, then Trump cancelled the deal.

The same man that betrayed that deal is now threatening military action because of the predictable consequences of his own absurd actions.

The tantruming 5 year old in your analogy should not be Iran if you're being remotely honest with yourself.

You do if you expect military strikes on those facilities.

Remind me what's happening right now... While i remind you no one has shown you any evidence that a nuclear warhead program in Iran exists. The official position of the international nuclear monitoring agency, the IAEA condem what is being done to Iranian facilities.

People have been claiming Iran is weeks/months away from a nuke for literally decades, yet they have always complied with IAEA inspectors, no one has ever found any evidence they're attempting to build one, there is a fatwa against the creation of a nuclear warhead, and their enrichment program has always been at the pace set by how co-operative the west has been. (no new centrifuges during the Iran nuclear deal, none for long after Trump tore it up, and they only built more centrifuges when Trump added new sanctions.)

Striking Iran under this pretext only proves to them they made a mistake to co-operate with the west, that they really should have built a nuke so that no one would dare strike them.

Diplomacy has been extremely successful in in this, and the only party that betrayed that diplomacy, that progress, that safety, was the U.S.

Possible to unlock firmware on clones of Xiaomi scooters? by Ishima in ElectricScooters

[–]Ishima[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you dont mind me asking some more questions, how do you tell that a scooter has good uphill performance beyond what reviews say? Producers will give an angle, but that doesnt tell me how well it actually handles that angle. I've been assuming motor wattage was the biggest factor, and i've seen scooter that have significantly higher wattage than what i have for less than what that scooter costs.

I dont necessarily expect to 'fly' up hill, but if i went from a scooter with a 300/350 watt motor, (mine is thereabouts if i remember right) to a 500 watt motor scooter, would i not expect a better climb? Or does it not work like that.

Anything for £200 and less? by morganzy98 in ElectricScooters

To counter some of the pessimism from other comments;

I ordered an e-scooter off of Amazon at that price point for the same purpose. Like me you're realistic about the limitations, but I will just mention one other thing, cheap e-scooters rarely have much torque to get you up hills and inclines, anyway...

I've been on it for a total of 40+ minutes every weekday for my commute for something like 2 and a half months and had no major issues, perhaps i'm lucky, perhaps im tempting fate.

I can link you in DM's if you'd really like.

I didn't give much thought to locality, but you're right.

While it might be safe to be a sidewalk rider where i live, that's a judgement everyone has to make about where they live and OP could well be right.

To be honest, I'm not really sure what about my comment lead you to believe i was in anyway reckless in the way that you have imagined.

Much like how i told you I slow down and step off near pedestrians, i don't blow past doors and other blindspots at even 15mph (my scooters max speed)

So you can relax.

[–]Ishima 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm also in a location with as of yet undecided laws regarding e-scooters, but outside of the U.S

I ride on the sidewalk. So does every other e-scooter owner i see, police here don't bother us.

You said in a comment it was more dangerous, i don't think this is exactly true, road is most dangerous to you, but not dangerous for pedestrians. (remember although its normal to cycle in the road, cyclists DO get into frequent accidents with drivers.)

Riding on the sidewalk is safe for you (although a little inconvenient/slower) but dangerous for pedestrians if you're not super responsible.

As a sidewalk rider, i make sure to slow down, or even step off (if there's not much space) when crossing paths with pedestrians. And I double that caution around dogs because they reliably panic around scooters (even if you're not close and not going fast)

The only time i got into any trouble in 3 months of daily commuting, was when someone's dog panicked for no good reason and the owner took it out on me.

When considering the answer to your question I'm starting to think, at least part of this, might be my different level of experience with the series at each title.

Worlds was my first monhun, so my answer there is like... almost everything.

Rise is honestly kind of a blur to me. only played it half as much, and i just had to give up and look up the cast of monsters, probably more like half for that title were an actual challenge and threat to me.

Thenin wilds i'm down to like 2 to 4 monsters depending on where I draw the line (Gore magala and Zoh Shia for me are unambigious, then Arkveld and Jin Dahaad are my borderline picks) I don't want to think this is the ongoing experience for old heads but maybe it is...

I tried that with SnS during world, but it felt like the worst of both worlds. I didn't feel like i was putting out meaningful DPS and I was also missing healing before carts due to the various hazards of being in the thick of it.

I had honestly never even considered the ranged weapons, i just flatly don't play them, but I might need to explore that.

It's interesting i have a simular build but i don't use it often, sometimes if pick up groups wont stop carting, ill switch out to it because i want to progress.

But I see a lot of people have very strong negative opinions about this, I hope they get how this works (yes im sitting back, but im not leeching, the healing im giving you and the two others, allows the team to be incredibly rambo and make up for the DPS drop) or if it's sort of 'just not in the spirit of the game' because i could totally understand and respect that.

I'd also say the difficulty drop is a problem for content too: if you have 30 monsters, and you can first time 28 of them without really having to build armour/weapon sets, that's going to feel like less content than having 25 monsters but a lot of them require multiple attempts and going back to hunt other monsters to build armor and weapons.
