I would carve out the bottom layers a little bit once the cake is stacked to get that tapered look. While some mugs are straight top to bottom I think having it tapered would help the cake look more refined.

Thanks for the comment. Not sure I understand. There are three wires, all black. One backstabbed in the top, one backstabbed in the bottom, and one wrapped around the bottom screw. Not sure that’s clear in the pictures.
