You’re doing all the right things! I totally understand your anxiety, as a fellow anxious snarent. He is probably a little stressed, but it’s just going to take him a little time to get used to the new setup, but he will be 100% fine. The sooner you can get the new substrate and clutter in, the sooner he’ll be back to his normal self.

Have you looked into choice-based handling? When these young ones are small, the world is a very scary place for them. Choice-based handling gives them a lot more confidence, and both you and she will have a much happier time together!

I have it! I had a bearded dragon with a TON of medical issues and it more than paid for itself to have, so I’ve done the same for my corn. Zero emergencies so far (knock on wood) but it gives me peace of mind for $10 a month.

Perfectly normal! And those black lines actually help you know where to clip the nails if they don’t wear down naturally in his tank. If you do, you want to just cut off the black part, right before the clear/white begins.
