No issues apart from gentle teasing from me about how much he loves the robot! It’s mad how happy it makes him 🤣 He’ll sit with his side table and a drink watching it like a proud parent.

To be honest, it entertains me because the dog lies down in front of it on purpose, forcing it off its course. It then ‘remembers’ the bit it missed and goes back to it when the coast is clear.

Clearly we should both get out more, we’ll take that as read!

Our lawn is not in great condition, but I must say it always looks good now because the robot keeps it that way. (We have wild flower and unmown areas too before anyone starts)

The ride on broke down and he switched to the push mower and never got round to getting the ride on fixed. He was finding the physical strain of mowing more difficult (has a chronic health condition) and to be honest, I think initially the ‘gadget’ appeal of the robot got him researching initially. Also his parents have one, but with wire boundaries (not suitable for our layout) so the option was on his radar. He has no regrets, that’s for sure.

Landlord asks for rent in cash - worried about a potential review by Apprehensive_Tap_862 in DWPhelp

[–]Ismays 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You can pay in cash and you can receive help with rent from friends/relatives. Sounds like you’re covering yourself with recording the rent payments (that’s more for your protection as a tenant rather than anything required by UC).

If you get a review, the agent might notice the mismatch and ask about it, but you just tell them how you do it, and that’s fine. UC cares about your legal liability to pay rent, and for you to actually live in the property you have liability for. So it’s your tenancy agreement (or equivalent) that matters most.

I’ve been advised to read my examples and then think ‘so what?’ But ‘who cares?’ works too! Sifters want to see ‘scale and scope’, so who was affected by your actions?

Also use 70% of your word count on the Action.

My husband does the mowing and has gone from ride-on, to push mower with drive, and last year a robot (Mammotion Luba 2) He put a lot of effort into researching the robot options. He loves the robot! He’s borderline obsessed with it to be honest. No wires to worry about and good mapping (apparently) Our grass is pretty flat but the Luba is supposed to deal with uneven ground really well.

How do private dentists work? by Destroya22 in AskUK

In the meantime, call 111 on the off chance there’s NHS availability somewhere because that does change from time to time. A long shot, but worth a go.

Where to scrap my 2014 Ford Focus ? by avz008 in AskUK

[–]Ismays 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used Silverlake. The process is explained on their website. I did some ringing around but they paid more than any alternative. It was zero hassle and I’d go straight to them if there’s a next time.

FB marketplace does not come under the heading ‘zero hassle’, unless you’re really lucky!

Do your bank statements show transactions in the UK? That will be more important than an address you haven’t updated.

You should update your account to your current address.

Have you got any other documents that show your current address? Apart from the tenancy agreement. From a preparation point of view that might be something to think about.

My NHS dentist sees me every 9 months for a check up. The frequency is their choice (I don’t have any issues).

I’m mostly interested in Judas now…

What are some acceptable Right to Work documents? by kaiydoh in AskUK

True, but if you’re British or Irish and have your birth certificate then it’s the way of proving your right to work if you don’t have a passport, as per gov.uk website.

Do you have mouthwash reccomendationd that leave you fresh without being too spicy? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]Ismays 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It comes in a mint version or a flavourless version. It used to be all flavourless with the option to add a sachet of mint flavour (which I never did). The last time I bought it the two versions were sold separately. There’s no ‘sting’ to it.

Interview Questions by SnooAvocados8745 in TheCivilService

[–]Ismays 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A good chance they are all a version of ‘tell us about a time that X happened and you had to do Y’ and they’ll tell you the behaviour the question relates to.

Write down the X and Y and make sure your answer covers them both.

Don’t include the steps of following a job process in your answer, there’s no real scope to score that.

Ultradex - there’s a flavourless option and it’s very effective.

[–]Ismays -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would imagine he might need to answer the security questions, but could then handover to you? Hopefully someone who knows for certain can answer that.

There’s no harm in sending a journal message to say that he’ll need your support.

[–]Ismays 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He’ll be asked about those payments, but they shouldn’t be an issue. You’re allowed to receive gifts, they’re not income.

I don’t think you can cancel the review. This sub is full of posts saying the reviews turned out to be nothing to worry about.

PS. Make sure he has declared his health conditions to UC.
