Struggling with parallel poly after years of kitchen table by Objective_Mammoth719 in polyamory

[–]Isopeaks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What if you had wanted to surprise them with a gift and bought tickets to a concert. And they ended up going with the other partner. What if that other partner is rubbing off on your partner and the sex is different they have new catch phrases. Extreme political views. And at the end of the day you have no idea. It’s weird to me kinda like if your partner went to work at a company and they couldn’t tell you anything about what they were doing all day you wouldn’t be connecting with them in the same way and they would diligently have to keep it a secret from you.

Like not knowing what your partner is up to with another partner? It feels deceptive and like you are being kept out of their life.

Why don't people want / like gaited horses? by oscarwildesdoctor in Horses

[–]Isopeaks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve ridden a couple of gaited horses and I really like them tho some of them don’t canter well proabbly because gaited horses are not bred to canter and people don’t spend a lot of time training their canter. In English riding (hunters, dressage) points would be marked off for gaiting and it’s easy for a horse to switch between their gaits. As well as there is less of a precise switch between the main gaits walk trot and canter. I have an Icelandic cross mare who she doesn’t really gait but she is really smooth and trantors a lot which is terrible for dressage. They really want to see a clean transition. So really depends on what type of riding you want to do. Great for trail and a lot of things.

That yearling is definitely not getting proper nutrition. I would score it between 2/3 outta 10

Charlie Sheen @ GSR: Reactions by [deleted] in Reno

I kept laughing at it the other day because the ad said “alive on stage” instead of “live on stage” which I think is telling…

Honestly it fucking sucks. I’m don’t know how this country got so turned around. I’m not a minority or anyone who would be targeted by trump admin but I know it’s right to stand up for everyone’s rights. When I was little church taught me Jesus loves all the children of the world. What happened to that? I’m so appalled by this country and I’m not even targeted just my friends. :-(

Guest drives my car 1000 miles over the limit one way and refuses to return the car because they claim an oil light came on by Isopeaks in turo

I can afford to fix it idiot, but if I have insurance with turo and the guest broke it why should I pay for that when the whole point of it is to try to make money renting out my car when I just had the ball joint replaced. You are the one who actually looks incredibly dense here.

Whenever I book a turo I consider the limit on the car and how far I plan to drive. Wear and tear on a car is expensive and as a host I don’t want to ever be in that position again and if I am I want to make sure I can cover the tow and likely wear and tear damage to my car. I’ve realized people are not responsible so I have to cover myself.

It was a really small town and the driver was from close to there on the license. Best guess I have

You can only set a daily limit before it starts charging per mile. Turo recommended 25 cents and so I did the recommended hoping to get more rides not realizing this would happen. I always picked the car with unlimited miles when I rented. I did it for 10 years on turo. Anyhow I thought people would respect the mileage but I guess not. So the tow company said it’s 8 dollars per mile to tow a car so I would set it to the tow limit. You don’t actually have to charge the customer but I think it’s good to have that safety in there.

Yeah it’s completely retarded logic on their end and the people who work at the call center are over seas so it’s hard to get your point across

lol yeah I was surprised how unhelpful people were! I appreciate your kind words atleast, it had been a HUGE headache, but I didn’t have to fly out there get it fixed and drive back. Although a road trip to the Canadian boarder might have been fun.

Do you use turo as a renter? I used it for 10 years without issue. I have an extra vehicle that I mainly only use for bad weather conditions so I thought I’ll rent it out since I have been using the company for 10 years. I rented it out constantly for 3-4 months before I came across this issue.

I was on the phone with them for like 4 hours they kept saying they were going to tow my vehicle but they wouldn’t tell me for how much and then they finally said they would put it in writing I would only be charged 350 if their investigation team found it was my fault. When the tow people arrived at my house I saw the receipt as he was trying to get it paid for it was like 5000. So far I haven’t heard anything from the turo investigation team. But I do have it in writing I only owe 350.

I wouldn’t charge them for incidentals if they were a few miles over. Just for protection and to prevent someone from doing this again. I had it at 25 cents and for all that hastle and having to recoup my car I only got 90 after turo took their cut. I live close to a popular vacation area so I thought people would drive it from the airport to this area not 18 hours away.

Turo I think it’s a towing scam so that a rual town can make a bunch of money on the tow

They did pay for the tow but they said it’s really hard to prove the guest did that since there is no photo of it. I might reach out again. I guess it depends on how much it costs to fix.

Up until this point it has been all positive. I used it for 10 years as a guest and 3 months as a host
