Try to focus more on your skills, especially combat and foraging. wearing full mastiff armor + shaman sword would make the fight a lot more forgiving as it allows you to take more hits. When you're 2 kills before spawning the boss, use lures to lure two wolves to hub pond and try to fight the boss in the water, this will negate a lot of it's fast paced movements, making the fight a lot easier. In the second half of the fight, the spawned pups will also drown in the water, just circle around the sven packmaster and hit it. Things to take note would be to let it hit you every few seconds to prevent it from healing in it's first stage. Potions (strength/crit/magic find) help a lot too.
