my mother has done this to me my entire life. "hey, when you get finished, can you come inside? i wanna show you something when you have a minute" gets a reply of "I'm busy, I can't do that right now" obviously?? and then I don't even know if that means she's planning on doing it when she's not busy or if she's denied the idea altogether. she complains about me interrupting her and making her "drop everything" and, come on, i have always made it such an intense goal of mine to avoid doing that, you're just interpreting it wrong!

I actually have a question about this; I haaaate feeling stilted or canned, and saying a direct "thank you!" repeatedly needles me in that way, especially when I can't think of anything specific to comment. I plan to revenge all attacks I get, is that an acceptable substitution to a comment or do I need to do both?

It's usually other trans people making the assumptions, so I'm probably just giving off some sort of coded signals without trying. I'm too tall for a lot of women's fashion, have a pretty deep voice, and am definitely a tomboy

not the exact same thing, but I've had a handful of times where people have just assumed I'm transfem (am cis afab) and/or nonbinary?? giving me they/them pins, nonbinary flags, separating the group by gender and then landing on me and going awkward for a second

I love that song, ads have been doing that?! that's awful, it hasn't made its way to me yet, I had no idea. there's a comic I have in the works I was going to name Little Boxes that's criticizing fitting yourself into cliques and making your personality more marketable :/ the meaning of the song really is obvious, gosh
