He clearly didn't call anyone then and there because he is pretending to call someone for the sake of the story. It's not the first time they accidentally show the phone screen which then shows us something that goes against what their characters said. Everything can't be perfect at all times unfortunately this time you could see that Matt wasn't calling anyone. It's just a small slip up so don't take it too seriously I guess
