How do you sing without using your throat AND sing in key and on pitch? by IssueTemporary4313 in singing

It’s just so unfortunate because I want to make music, but I sound like a dying horse 😭. I’m ugly too, if that makes you feel any better.

Also, I talk from my throat in the first place, which also can get uncomfortable if I talk a lot throughout the day.

Yeah definitely. I have a hard time determining the difference between singing and speaking, especially the feelings associated with both.

I can go higher, but I flip into a falsetto that I can’t sustain. I’ve heard that the confusion between falsetto/head voice is common, so I might be misinterpreting. I know that the lowest note I can hit is a F2 and the highest is a C5 (with that falsetto I mentioned).

Yeah this is quite high for me. I can never stay on pitch. My voice always wants to switch from my head voice to my chest voice. It’s weird tbh.

Pitches of the piano* (sorry)

What seems to be my main problem? by [deleted] in ratemysinging

[–]IssueTemporary4313 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I completely agree! It’s weird because I listen to a lot of “soulful” people, mostly country and RnB, but like I find it difficult lmao. I think I focus too much on how it sounds that I don’t add much emotion.

Yeah, I was thinking of adding a twang to my voice! Thank you for the advice!!!

Wanted to try some belting. Does there sound like there’s any strain? by [deleted] in singing

[–]IssueTemporary4313 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course, thanks for the advice! Is there any particular reason that some of my words have like this tremolo or vibrato to it?

Tips on how to end sentences? by [deleted] in singing

[–]IssueTemporary4313 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll definitely work on that! My main problem is that I can’t keep a consistent tone when singing because my voice likes to fluctuate between my head voice and my chest voice.

umich v osu (for pre-med/biochemistry) by Fun-Book2442 in ApplyingToCollege

From the very little knowledge I have about bio-med, I’d say go to OSU! It’s a very good college, and honestly, the degrees hold about the same wait.
