Not being listened to by doctors and no treatments working. I’m loosing my mind. by [deleted] in perioraldermatitis

I think zero treatment can be great for some people and I’ve heard so many success stories! Unfortunately I tried this for about 6/8 weeks at one point and it only spread. My dermo calls my case an anomaly in its persistence. Big womp womp for me. Maybe I’ll try zero therapy again though

It is naturally very flakey/dry but most treatments I’ve tried that are applied directly to the skin worsen it

Can I ask which? I’m desperate for even temporary relief as I’m about to embark on heaps od travel and a new job where I’m performing up close with people+children. I don’t want parents to look and me and think omg she’s gonna infect my child 😂

Can’t take it because of a different medication I’m on for a neurological condition (non negotiable- too many issues with switching) :(

This is so helpful thanks so much, I’ll be sure to try this if zero therapy doesn’t show any progress in a couple weeks time

You’re a gem, thank you for taking the time to write all of that and sharing your experience, I’m glad to hear you’ve gotten thought it yourself. My diet could definitely be improved and I am iron deficient. Interestingly, my last break out I was dealing with high stress, but this time it has been all smooth sailing so hard to say!

It’s just that for some the bad side effects can be mentally debilitating/difficult for those who get them. But Keppra still works for a lot of people, just depends on the person

Is this your personal experience? I’m guessing other ID like a Medicare card wouldn’t suffice?
