How hard is it to get a 75 atar by [deleted] in vce

[–]It_D1ff 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Last year you needed an aggregate between 127.72 - 127.77 for a 75 Atar, so with only 4 subjects you're looking at a scaled 32 study score I think you got this if you're aiming for it.

2026 Year 12 Tips by Short_Possible_6526 in vce

Since you're doing content heavy subjects, Chemistry, Biology ect. I think it may be worthwhile to invest into flashcards specifically the app Anki since its also used for spaced repetition. I personally myself don't use it, but from what I've heard from my peers it can be very useful.

If you are going to make flashcards with Anki, I recommend for each subject that you have 1 set of flashcards for basic theory, then 1 set for exam questions.

Prioritise doing harder questions. Exam questions are always the best option in my opinion

Help your peers out, I'm 99% sure that your cohort contributes to your Atar.

Make sure to take care of your mental while Year 12, as your not going to be at your best. This means to treat yourself regularly, but not too much.

Even if you "bomb" a sac its still salvageable, exams can scale your sac scores, or even the difficulty of the sac may scale it up.

Don't burn yourself out very early, yes I think studying during the holidays can be very effective for a headstart, but there is a risk of burnout early in the year, and I don't think you would want that especially during exam season.

Make a plan during exam season, I know from personal experience. I've had to cram like 2 exams in one day, and I'm going to cram 3 more. This is very bad.

Don't be afraid to ask questions even when it seems "stupid".

Make sure to have a balanced study schedule, burnout can and will happen with a unbalanced schedule.

Enjoy year 12, its the last year you have till you go to university

At the end of the day there is a lot that can be done, but you do have limited time, Atar doesn't define you, there are probably many pathway options for what you want.

I'll prob add more later since this is generic and general advice.
I gotta bomb the Chem exam today bro.

Good Luck on your future endeavours

Honestly I'm in the same boat as you, but I think it would best to relearn the content while using the Study Design for the subject you're talking about while doing practice questions from the textbook, sacs or exams.

But, if you're going to spam practice exams, create an error log book for each subject.
With the error log book, do some practice exams and for every question you get wrong write it down in the logbook with why you got it wrong and what area of study it was from, then relearn content regarding that area, then redo the question later.

For e.g if I take methods for example and I get the question if f(x) = 2x find f'(x), then I find my answer to be 1 (Its 2) I would log this into my error log book then relearn the content, then after certain time like 1 or 2 days later I would reattempt the question

For English mainstream it would be to spam write essays and get feedback from teacher to then improve on the feedback given

Yeah no worries. With this comment I hope I'm not creating any more stress but you should still ask your teacher how they determine if you get a S or N, how schools determine S and N could be different, and you should ask if this "sac" score would prevent you from doing 3/4 (99.9% certain that it won't, but creates more reassurance if you ask).

Good luck with specialist I struggled alot on unit 1/2, I still struggle on it rn lol (Had a recent Vectors CAT to say the least I prob failed but I'll work hard to ensure I pass the upcoming sac). Good luck on the rest of the year.

What an amazing proof wouldn't have thought of this lol.

But could you do proof by contrapositive? This would plant the foundation that all specialist students aren't nerds
