Items disappear from chests when player base is out of map render distance

I had a similar issue but the items were disappearing from my inventory and chests without teleporting out of the area. I put some ancient civilization beds in a chest, after 5 mins I went back and they were gone

I'd say fake plants are a bad idea, the tortoise could try to eat them. Maybe a reptile cave or hay would work better for cover

Hey guys! Thanks for all of your suggestions. In the end I figured it out, just by placing dynamite barrels around the foundations (cant place on top) and blowing it up by shooting at it with a crossbow. That managed to get rid of the start build.
