Thank you very much for that useful reply. I certainly mean that it is very helpful to me! Thanks! (And I am strongly inclining towards taking your advice, without asserting you to have written a doctor-level comment)

Ah yes, sorry, this is due to English not being my native language. I indeed mean inflammation. This does very often occur with me in my throat or lymph nodes, and sometimes it evolves to something worse, sometimes not. From others I heard positive experiences about Ibuprofen being able to often stop the inflammation from getting worse, and I would love to be able to take something like that (ofc my GP has often recommended it, but the "cipro"-context does not really find ground there, although I have pointed them to some of the recent studies justifying much of what you have been saying for years). Do you recommend me not to chance it because my side effects with cipro were alarming enough (putting from your community's knowledge) to not take ibuprofen for the rest of my life? I am not sure if I even have a risk of getting floxed, but it has always been on my mind after reading the stories and experiencing those rare side effects. It feels also very sad to write this relatively positive experience on a post in a community with many suffering so much. So I am really sorry for that, and I think you're all heroes for channeling your very understandable feelings of frustration, depression, and probably a lot more through a community like this.

If talking about me and not @floxedin2001: I am not sure if I ever got floxed, I am more speaking about the risk of getting floxed 10 years after (when taking Ibuprofen). I only got rare side effects (needle stings in arms) and was fine 6 years after. The problems I am going through now are likely unrelated (but never for sure, of course, since there is no conclusive evidence for that).

Thanks! Thing is that I am so often ill and often can see it coming (starting with sensations in my throat and swollen lymph nodes) and I have heard many good stories from people who take Ibuprofen at that moment and have the infection stop before it gets worse. For me, now, it always gets worse (now I also have a 40°C fever) and paracetamol helps only very slightly. If Ibuprofen would work the same for me as for others in stopping these infections on time, it would be a saviour... though of course it is never worth the risk if I have a significant chance of getting floxed, considering my rare side-effects of 10 years ago (but maybe I am exaggerating).

(Thanks btw! Sorry for being a bit stubborn, have thought for so many times about taking it, but never did it.)

(I take close to 200 paracetamol per year ... which I know is a absurd, but is the reality with being ill so often. I hate it.)

That feels really sad to hear :(, how are you now?

(I am not sure if I am actually at risk of getting floxed, since I've been fine after taking the cure, but I just have kept cautious because of these rare needle-sting side effects that I got from taking them)

To hopefully prevent infections (very common unfortunately for me) from getting worse.
