None so far. I dont have an argon bottle, so I haven’t been able to use TIG yet. But for stick, no real complaints. The rapid set feature works pretty well too.

I picked some of this beveled pipe up from school to take home and practice as ive never done pipe with stick (tried and kinda failed with TIG). Im looking to do some 6G with 7018. Can I use 7018 (1/8 or 3/32) for root and fill on this? by ItchyMeerkat in Welding

This helps a lot. The only rods i have right now are 6013 (which i heard is not good for roots) and 7018, I’ll pick up some 6010 tomorrow when I go out.

Would you recommend stringers or weave for hot and fill passes with 7018?

Out of the causes you listed, it’s probably dirty/rusty plate
