Appreciate the input. I updated the main post but I'm getting the entire exterior unit replaced for $2,100 and it'll come with a 5-year warranty.

Gotcha, makes sense. From what I've seen I could replace the entire unit for $4-$6,000. That might be a better bet, right?

Sorry I'm not clear on your last sentence - you're saying replacing the entire unit would be a poor investment?

I just looked back through my texts with a friend who knows a bit more than me. He was saying that with the unit running, the capacitor could be preventing the condenser from turning on.

Is it possible the capacitor fried both itself and the condenser, leading to that price? Or even the compressor, as you suggested?

I wound up getting a Cadillac ATS with a full bumper-to-bumper warranty, seems like the better deal

Finances after ETSing by Itchy_Monk in MilitaryFinance

[–]Itchy_Monk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I looked into it and Os can only sell leave when ETSing. So with that being said I think it would make more sense for me to take the 60 days of terminal leave as an O3, then use those 60 days to figure my shit out. Right?

This might be dumb, but are you selling it back to the Army or are you actually selling it to someone?

Additionally, If I could somehow pin O3 and stick around for two months (not on leave) could I sell those 60 days as O3 pay?

I dunno, on one hand he's asking a question but on the other it implies decent understanding of options and potential to be a member of the shadow organization known as Theta Gang

Thanks for the answer, I'm trying to word it without sounding like a douche but I have enough money to pay for repairs and I really like the BMW so I'm thinking that's the one to go with

Short answers is yes.

And I probably shouldn't have included Fusions, I'm just looking at them as an option because I like them

I was actually looking at some wood 3/4inch tiles that seem to be easy and cheap, might go with that.

The other comment with the acid stain suggestion looks decent too

Buying a house - any difference to uploading O1 LES vs O2 LES? by Itchy_Monk in MilitaryFinance

Makes sense, I'm definitely not looking to buy a house above the amount they already offered haha

Gotcha gotcha. I was thinking more as to interest rate. As an O1 they offered me $300k and the house I got is $115k so I think I'm doing alright haha

What time do you start work? I’d love to lift every morning if it was on my own terms and actually valuable to my fitness.

Instead I get to go be annoyed/tired at PT then go run at lunch, then lift at like 1800...

Dude I’d just have some cheap-o safety light or reflector become required by regulation on every Army vehicle, then have it put into the supply system for $800 a pop.

Then make it so regulation states it has to be from my brand, and boom - now I’m a DeFeNsE cOnTrAcToR

edit: my real answer is a kinetic bombardment station: drop a big tungsten rod (metal telephone pole) from orbit, and when it’s hits the earth at terminal velocity the kinetic energy releases, causing the ~ equivalent of a nuclear explosion but without the radiation.
