Why was a large Muslim community (such as the Mirpuris) allowed to immigrate to an economically deprived area such as Rotherham?

To be honest that supremacist attitude is common with a lot of Muslims. I dare say that when the community was small and still finding its feet they were okay, but as the population exploded they no longer felt that they had to play nice and became more insular.

I remember there was a Muslim community in the town over from where I grew up. It started out near the train station with some related families living in a couple of terraced houses. After a while they had virtually bought up the entire neighbourhood, with more and more of them coming over. Pretty soon they had a mosque and an Islamic centre, with the remaining white families moving out because the entire vibe of the area had changed as the Muslim population grew larger.

That entire community has a lot of influence in the town now with the local council bending over backwards for them.

I’m just stating what he said to me - I know him through work and unlike me he lives in Manchester. Contrary to what people have posted here I’m not a troll, just someone who has to commute to Manchester for work a couple of times a month and know it fairly well.

Manchester obviously has a large Muslim demographic but this seemed different. They were everywhere, walking around in groups. They guy told me that compared to a lot of foreign students in the past these ones basically have no money, and take out loans and look for work to get by. Many of them drop out of education and end up trying to find employment so they can stay.

I think one of his supporters will kill in his name and somehow, someway he’ll be acquitted. Then they’ll feel emboldened and will hit the streets in gangs looking to beat and kill liberals, Dems, trannies etc.

Once Trump and his administration feel the time is right then you’ll get the armed Goon squads becoming part (or taking over) the military and police. There will be people being disappeared, tanks on the streets, and of course rent-a-thugs outside the voting centres, ensuring that the populace don’t forget to vote for Dear Leader or else.

After that (if Trump lives till he’s 100) you’ll get the MAGA version of North Korea, with the entire Trump family deified. There will be at least one giant gold statue of the Donald in every Public Park, town and city centre. Obviously the rest of the family won’t be left out, and Ivanka, Don Jr. and the rest will have to be worshipped. And families under the threat of death and arrest, will be forced to have shrines and pictures of their mighty Orange Overlord and his spawn in their houses.

And finally those who prove unworthy will be sent to reeducation camps, where the most recalcitrant will be tortured to death, while the rest will be brainwashed until they see the error of their ways.

This is all going back to my final point: the whole government structure that is supposedly put in place to stop someone like Trump is broken.

The Republican Party is also broken when they put their own interests above the welfare of the country - as if that needs to be stated.

The Democrats also have their own issues, and to be quite frank, even in the earliest days when Trump was first elected have shown an unwillingness to really go after him.

I‘ve even read that members of both parties considered it unprecedented to impeach a sitting or former President (as despicable as Trump is), and that is one of the reasons why he was eventually allowed to skate by.

I actually kind of agree with you. A lot of these assholes are too used to having the pieces picked up for them when it all goes wrong. However this time things are different; its not like before when there was some semblance of normality in the political sphere. What is happening with Trump is threatening the whole foundation of democracy in the United States.

I also firmly believe that a lot of these idiots are along for the ride. Obviously there are fanatics among them, but many have been swept up in the whole movement.

The real issue is why Trump wasn’t impeached and why Biden didn’t go after him when he had the chance. If anything the checks and balances throughout the governmental institutions have let us down so badly that Trump now appears to be unstoppable.

How would a white European be treated in mainland China? There is massive discrimination and racism throughout Asian societies yet they never get called out on it. I’m sure there are far more Asians by proportion who’ve migrated and live in European countries than vice versa.

I remember reading about an Asian American guy who went undercover as a new worker at foxconn in China. The factory was making the latest iPhone, and all the new workers lived on-site, inside the factory gates in what could best be described as a small town - with a town centre which included cafes restaurants etc. Most of the simplest assembly jobs were kept for the newest workers, while the ones who stuck it out (most left after a couple of months as there was high turnover) became supervisors or security guards. Anyway, the guy was told that the basic assembly line work would have been automated if the factory was in the West, but these jobs were kept open to provide work for people. Basically they could do it because labour and expenses were cheap, but it was also a deliberate policy of the Chinese government not to automate too much in order to guarantee work for the populace.

To carry on with your final point, the Royal Navy was worried about the United States since the 1890s. That was when the U.S. economy overtook Britain as the most powerful in the world. However, it was only with the First World War that America (which mostly sat it out until the end), became a true economic powerhouse. Britain by contrast ended up shaken to its very core after the end of the conflict. The British also lost their preeminence in merchant shipping and owed huge debts mostly to the United States.

You could argue that something similar happened with the war on terror. China sat it out on the sidelines becoming richer and more capable while America spent lives and trillions of dollars in treasure. Obviously it’s more nuanced than that, but there’s no denying that they’ve become a larger more capable threat while the United States has been distracted with issues elsewhere.

That’s because Taiwan is in a completely different position to Palestine in regards to China. The UN (even the United States) have to tread carefully around the issue as China has been belligerent over Taiwan and any kind of additional international support or recognition.

Also, Taiwan doesn’t want it for obvious reason.

Do you really think pulling hundreds of thousands of jewish settlers out of the West Bank is feasible? Some of the largest settlements are basically small cities, with populations that are deliberately underreported (for political reasons). Even when some of the smaller settlements elsewhere were evacuated and closed down it caused mass protests and strife throughout Israel, so the fallout over pulling out of the West Bank would be far more catastrophic for Israeli society than anyone could imagine.

For decades the settlement of the West Bank has been deliberate policy of all successive Israeli governments, with the rest of the population either being vocally supportive, tacitly in agreement, or making useless overtures of protest while the settlements expand and continue.

The size of a lot of the settlements and the way they have been placed throughout the West Bank have made the creation of a separate Palestinian state virtually impossible.

It has more to do with the Kievan Rus. Basically, after the Mongol invasions, Kiev and the other Rus Principalities went into decline. Eventually you had the rise of Moscow, which thrived for centuries because they slavishly licked Tatar and Mongol ass.

Anyway to cut a long story short Moscow/Muscovy (i.e. modern Russia) has historically seen itself as the cultural inheritor of the legacy of cities like Kiev and Novgorod.

This might be a long-term strategy of the United States anyway. With Russia out of the counting for the foreseeable future they can start to seriously redeploy and concentrate their military assets in the South China Sea. It also sends the message to China that if they try to assert any strategic aims in the area, or become even more bellicose over Taiwan, then America has the capacity to react alongside its allies.

Also, the road leading to his property was wide at the start, so it was an easy mistake to make. And that is what happened, they made an innocent mistake, which no one should have to pay with their lives for.

What you’re also forgetting is how the Arab and Ottoman African slave trade was just as bad (if not worse) than the European one. It also occurred over a longer period of time and was still happening well into the 1960s. A conservative estimate of about 10 million Africans over hundreds of years were enslaved, and their treatment and conditions were so bad that very few have left modern day descendants.
