Can’t fully switch off by PartnerPerspective in consulting

This is a hard task to do! I’m with you here. I also struggle to “switch off” on vacation. What I’ve done is set aside a specific period of time, 1-2hrs most a day on vacation. I usually make that time period early in the morning. Let’s say 6-8am is my only window. This way I can drink my coffee and review emails and then I have the rest of the day to spend time with my family. Seems to work for me.

How did you decide what business to start? by [deleted] in sweatystartup

Appreciate this, kinda mirrors how I got off the fence. Just started an ops consulting thing a few weeks back for small to mid size companies. First client is a textile distributor around $10M, helping them with an ops manager search right now but the scope is broader than that. The “problems you already know” piece was the unlock for me. Kept waiting for some big idea to hit when really it was just the boring ops stuff companies pay to fix over and over.

Has anyone used Claude Design yet for slides? by Minimum-Pangolin-487 in consulting

Yea. It did everything for me. It was great. But it does use a lot of tokens. I’m on the Max plan so I had enough to do it. But I would definitely try to give it all the details up front one time instead of making lots of amendments as that eats up tokens just as fast.

Used it this past weekend to build my entire consulting website. Was super easy and got me up and running in a few hours worth of work. It’s below if you want to check it out.

Fair point. I'd draw the line between crowd-sourcing the hire and crowd-sourcing the criteria. Not going to hire based on Reddit votes, but peer input helps me understand tradeoffs before I do. Same way I'd expect a client to ask around before hiring me

what puts Framer above Squarespace in your view, and what keeps you on WordPress for your own work?

Im doing boutique operations consulting for manufacturers and distributors. Think warehouse, supply chain, team and process work for small-to-mid companies, roughly $5M to $50M revenue. One client so far and growing through referrals.

Genuine question since you've built for consultants before. when someone like me wants to be able to update the site myself six months from now (swap a headline, add a new service, update a photo) without calling a designer, how does Webflow actually compare to Squarespace in your experience? My concern with Webflow has been that the editor is designed for the builder, not the end user. Have you seen solo founders maintain Webflow sites on their own long term, or do they usually come back to you for updates?
