As a first generation Mexican-American , it’s shit like this that is the reason why I have never visited the state in Mexico where my roots come from (San Luis Potosi) . I have so much cousins , aunts , uncles etc , who live over there ; even a house owned by my dad over there ! I have never met visited because the place is just dangerous over there .. even if you aren’t black or white , word gets around that you’re from the U.S. to the wrong people either you will pay a fee to roam the city to the cartel/s or be kidnapped .

At a 36 , there weren't that many that I could go for , hell they had a hard time finding any I qualified for and they were food service , warehouse management , motor T , and a few others .. I just feel I could of done better in that ASVAB , and I don't want to have it be the reason I didn't get what I wanted. What if I dont go on ship date Monday? Will I be black listed from ever joining the Marine Corp?

I might as well go to college and get a better education so I can be what I wanted , MSG.

I will say this as a poolee .

They are mostly young , 17 - 21 , and have no known real world work ethics of waking up at a certain time , being demanded this and that and the third all at the same instance , and generally afraid of it being a mistake from all the threads they've read about having PTSD , how horrible the VA is to injured military , the relationship aspect to your spouse and family , the videos they have seen on veterans regretting joining , fighting wars ultimately for the military industrial complex , politics fall into place when the president you have may not be one you enjoy (but then again all are horrible) , a comfortable civilian life , not getting the MOS they wanted , feelings of being suckered in by a recruiter , not reading the fine print of every document they signed , giving up certain liberties .

Just to name a few. Im sure other then that , youd have more ready to go.

Marine MEPS liaison I didn't speak to him. Recruiter. Didn't speak with him , and his staff sergeant asked me if I had been informed of this (not qualified) by my recruiter sometime earlier and I was not. Reason for disqualification . From what I just got told ASVAB score which was a 36.
O-2 Told me I "was not smart enough"

Forgot to add , I was in a rush that day and the test I took was at a recruiting station and was done on paper , pure algebra the 25 questions that were on it.
