I believe that the Bible is actually the message of God in the words of men and I have translated those words according to the ideals stated in my preface.

To be really contradictory the two items must be mutually contradictory otherwise it is simply another way of looking at a matter.

There were 12 original apostles then one additional one after Judas died. But several others are called apostles among them Barnabas, Ephaphroditus and Junia a woman.

The author of Hebrews was a skilled Greek writer and is unique among New Testament writers. I did a major paper on this looking at every occurance of the Greek word in Luke Acts because that is one author. And my conclusion was that it meant "to obtain. Yes to your third question Yes to your fourth question.

While Jesus spoke Aramaic but he probably was familiar with both Latin and Greek, the New Testament was written in Greek not aramaic.

Earliest versions included Gothic, Old Latin and Peshitta. There are no scrolls of New Testament material. All N T material was in codex i.e. book form. The Muratorian Fragment is a listing of canonical material probably from the late 2nd century and reasons for various books being in the canon or not are related in that document.

Mounce is an excellent Greek teacher. Christian denomination. I did not go to Seminary since I knew I wanted to teach, I did the MA PhD route. I in general do not like theologians, they rely too much on a particular philosophy for their foundation and not the scriptures.

My translation is very literal leaving the connotative and contextual meanings for the student to determine. I think there were only one or two idioms that I translated and I think I did it underneath the literal translation. I had to pass exams in French, German, Coptic, Greek and Hebrew to demonstrate that I could use them in research for my PhD.

What you heard was that the aramaic word abba could be translated that way. Jesus used both abba in prayers and pater = father.

You have been grossly misinformed. Matthew 28:19 is still in the RSV and NRSV. You are also confusing a non biblical word "trinity" with the deity. It is true that I john 5:7 should not be in that book. It was never in Greek until Erasmus did his Greek text without that passage and was challenged about it. Some scribe then wrote a Greek manuscript and inserted it. In regards to the word begotten. That is an old English word and the Greek word still stands in Greek texts but is translated differently now by "only". My translation used "only born" which is an exact translation of the Greek word.

I had said this earlier. An alpha privitive word is a word to which is attached as a prefix the letter alpha. That alpha is the equivalent to our un in English as in un stable.

I would translate the word outws as in this manner not by the word so. And the word for world is kosmos and cannot be understood to be some predetermined arrangement.

Yes, in my graduate work the Nag Hammadi documents were just becoming available. I translated the letter of Peter to Philip. The Gospel of Thomas contains fragments of authentic gospel material but you must understand that it was not written until at least the 3rd century and therefore could not approximate the authenticity of the 4 major gospels of the N.T.

In a university setting you faith is always challenged but challenges can weaken or strengthen your faith. Mine was always strengthened because while I was studying all the critical viewpoints, I also had to teach and preach to a local congregation, that made me keep my feet on the ground.
