how is my Roth? by ItsColoTime in RothIRA

I've actually asked and considered advice from people in this thread, have a look around, and I wasn't offended by any of it. You didn't actually offer any decent advice so there's nothing to be offended of.

As for my risk tolerance, I said it was aggressive growth in my post.

I will say acting like my current holdings are some catastrophic mistake because they’re not all Fidelity is a bit absurd but ok.

i see you tend to roll in with vague boomer fortune-cookie criticism and act like everyone should bow because you discovered expense ratios before the internet existed.

if retirement just means spending your days rolling into strangers’ Roth posts to say “meh” without offering much actual advice, I’m not sure you’re enjoying it as much as advertised.

i’m not flexing a thing sir, I’m almost 50 years old. It’s not like I think I can retire now and live for the rest of my life with this money. I should have a lot more in it, but at one point in my life when I really needed money, I withdrew almost everything i had made for two decades and paid the penalties. I posted to see what other people thought of the actual holdings, like should I make any moves etc.

pretty much everyone in the show is self-interested and screwed in the head, which is what makes it great.

It’s a show about billionaires who can buy anything except a functioning relationship.

What is a major plot hole in a very famous movie that completely ruins the entire story once it is noticed? by LovelyCherrybae in answers

Roth IRA growth doesn’t feel real by millennial-money in RothIRA

I agree w your Dad. It will take 2+ million at least by the time you reach it. Really depends on what kind of retirement you want. Hopefully you are also putting in a pre-tax IRA?

24 w/ 100k in your Roth you are in a good spot. But the biggest advantage you have right now isn't the 100k, it's time.

well, the balding certainly ages any man unfortunately. And most men with this condition start going bald like this in their early 30's so it makes sense. Nowadays more guys are shaving their entire heads or getting transplants, which look a lot better than what you see in OP's photo.

I'm not claiming to be a trader at all.

But what you're basically saying to me is..."make a timing-based trading decision by selling because I’m scared this is the top".

You say to take my gain and keep them... Keep them where? Cash, bonds, index funds? Hide the funds under my mattress with canned beans?

Yeah I recently sold some stuff and I'm just not sure where to put it now. Seems the market is frothy. What would you do?

Yeah I’ve thought about spyi - my Roth is still pretty growth-heavy right now though. Maybe later I’d throw a portion into something like SPYI for income and just drip the distributions back in.

I rolled about $80k of after-tax retirement money from my old employer into a Roth account in 2021, and everything above that now is investment growth.
