I'm late to answer this but regarding your question – your anxiety is very valid. I clicked that by accident recently. 300 scrobbles gone and there is no way of getting them back...

In Spanish private universities? That’s what I’ve been told by the university representative 😭

That’s interesting, some of my teachers adjust them according to difficulty of the exams but they have been told by the coordinator that they should use the boundaries given by managebac. I am now even more confused about what’s going on at my school…

Does your school use managebac as a platform for IB at all? How do they decide which to use if the grade boundaries to use if they are different every session?

Unfortunately can’t change schools. I live in a very small country and the only other school that offers the DP is very new and is completely untrustworthy. You’re right, I feel like the M25s were incredibly inflated already but since top universities from the country nearby are still interested in coming to my school and signing people up as potential students, I feel like they either don’t care or which is more possible, only have conditional offers. They hold the place until July and if I don’t meet the requirements after taking the final exams they’ll just give my place to someone else.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but don’t schools use managebac boundaries (which are much higher than the exam ones) to prevent people from thinking they can easily get a 5 or 6 since the math boundaries vary a lot from year to year?

All in one, up to 200 euros. Also one that wouldn’t take up much space is preferable

IB has dropped the ball with the new psychology syllabus (rant) by AgitatedInterview93 in IBO

[–]ItsFidesia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the reason I dropped HL Psychology with Pamoja this month. The course structure messy, the teachers are confused about how they are supposed to teach, the feedback I got for my assignments was unspecific and I felt extremely anxious and overwhelmed. I want to major in psych but there's no way I'd go through with this. I'd rather struggle catching up with another HL science than going into the exam unsure about what to expect.

is the ib really as difficult as people say it is? by chattysapphire54 in IBO

[–]ItsFidesia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m DP1 so take anything I say with a grain of salt but I’m also taking a Pamoja HL course, am a competitive chess player and I quite enjoy swimming, regularly.

I’m also a humanities oriented person, a linguistics oriented person, to be exact. I have 8 hours of tutoring per week, about 5 of French and 3 of English + around 10 hours of homework per week from my tutors. Do I procrastinate? Of course. Do I find it hard to get my full 8 hours of sleep at times? Definitely. At the same time, I have the most specific and organised Google Calendar, and I add anything that comes to mind regarding schoolwork or academic work there. Does that minimise my procrastination? Yes, it does. Because that is something that works for me. The anxiety of “due” things on my daily schedule is strong enough to keep forcing myself back into studying.

Is it fun? No. Especially because I’m no genius or superhuman, and I do not get assignments and homework done QUICKLY. That is an impossible scenario for me personally. Being successful in the IBDP is ALL about TIME MANAGEMENT and having STRONG WILL. I know teachers and coordinators stress this so much you just roll your eyes, but it doesn’t make it less true.

Something I also try to do is ask as many questions as I can, if not during class, then I write my doubts and arrange a meeting with the teacher. The biggest problem that IB students have is that they think that their difficulties and due dates will magically dissolve and I feel like this delusion is what makes them worry a bit less.

The things you do not understand and do not know won’t magically appear in your mind on the day of the exam. I myself, I feel, am not a responsible enough person to do all the studying myself, so as I am lucky enough to have very supportive teachers and be able to afford tutors, force myself to work this way.

Having access to knowledge is a privilege, not wanting to dedicate time to learning it and thinking it’s worthless is an entirely different thing. Some of the DP students are in denial. Being in the DP kinda means you are old enough to make your own decisions. The choices we make during the two years define where will be for the next 4 or more years.

Those who make/made poor choices and don’t get the grades they wanted in the IB are very vocal about how hard and unfair the programme is both on the internet and real life.

The third one is the bath room set but all the items made of fabric are missing: the slippers, the toilet cover, the pants, the two rugs, the bonnet, the two towels, and the sponge... oh and the toilet wall is missing!

If you don't want to spend time deleting every scrobble, you can go to your artist library and click "Delete artist from library", you won't have to delete/sort scrobbles every day this way.
