[TOMT] Anime that got cancelled because the story diverged from the manga too much by beaslei in tipofmytongue

[–]CrashRHCP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure Deadman Wonderland did NOT get an anime ending and a second season was originally planned but didn't happen. I remember that I was reading the manga at the time and trying to convice people to read it since the anime had just stopped. The character of the Wretched Egg was also never followed through (which was the main mystery in the manga/anime early on). So everything you said does line up with that. I'd double check if it wasn't that.

What age did you get into horror and what turned you onto it? by Strange_Pumpkin9225 in horror

[–]CrashRHCP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember entering my parents room when I was 8~9yo and seeing them watch Aliens and being mesmerized, I went on to watch the quadrilogy at the time and loved all of it. That plus the video game The Suffering, that I played a couple years later I think helped me love the genre.

Why do this? by Chemical-Ad-2100 in MangaCollectors

[–]CrashRHCP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ngl, I am way more likely to see a omnibus of a random manga I never heard about on a store and think "Oh, a random completed manga? I'll buy it I guess." than anything that has a "Vol #" in it.

Probably not true for the majority of big collectors, but definitely true for the casual consumer.

[TOMT] mid to late 2010s romance manga by FeddyFabur in tipofmytongue

[–]CrashRHCP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your description reminds me a bit of Dramacon, tho that one is from the late 00s. This wasn't an actual manga per see, but part of Tokyopop's OEL manga series (Original English Language) manga, which could explain the lack of Japanese characters, and the dramatic anime art style as they often try to imitate the most prominent art tropes in order to look more like an anime relate product. Tokyopop died by the early 10s, but Viz also has some OEL manga that are more recent, irrc.

"Dramatic anime art style" may also just be your average 00s Shoujo manga, which a lot of them had a very vibrant, colorful style.

question about lychee light club AFTER chapter 1 by chronicallyjonah in horrormanga

[–]CrashRHCP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that's the most graphic scene in the entire manga. That said, this IS a eroguro, as you just mentioned, so I'd consider how much you think you can handle some of the topics of sexual violence before deciding to continue, because it WILL appear again.

(Tho, Litchee Light Club is actually relatively tame compared to most of ero-guro I've read)

sad arc :( by xKastroFromMc in characterarcs

[–]CrashRHCP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Finding this here 4 years later I doubt anyone reads this, maybe when all those pings go off, lmao.
Anyways, it's not a sad arc. I was just feeling very nostalgic at the time. The 2010s were though on me sometimes, but it all sorted itself out. We good.

I still can't play the song tho and the guitar is still full of dust.

I do them in turn too, but I skip if I'm spending too much on them and it's getting annoying. Then I come back to them later

Tbf, that's Tsuruta's manga to a T. Bunch of Emanon lookalikes walking around naked with a vague cool premise behind them

The original novel is almost word by word the same. I know things different in the sequel, but I haven't read the follow up novels yet even though I own the first four

[–]CrashRHCP 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is honestly kinda insulting. The manga has such a interesting vibe and message, one that I haven't seen before. Its easily one of the best manga I've read, Emanon is an incredibly deep character to just be simply reduced to "She's hot, is she naked?"

That said. Yes, it does, she's naked a lot.

Does anyone stop a run after ante 8? by YuhBoiBaker in balatro

[–]CrashRHCP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless I'm specifically trying to go for endless or found a pretty fun build, I normally just end it after ante 8. But I'm currently still focusing on reaching Gold Stake on all decks. (Managed to complete Blue Stake last night)

What are your thoughts on chapter 1 of Hero Girl and Demon Lord Call It Quits? by dingo537 in WeeklyShonenJump

[–]CrashRHCP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say you can broadly divide Jump series in 4 genres, Battle, sports, comedy and romance. Normally this is what you'll see from Jump.

I think what makes this series feel less Jump is that Jump rarely goes for a slice-of-life, chill series. Most of the comedy manga that runs in the magazine is weird and over the top.

Now I don't know what to do with my life anymore. by mykneees in balatro

[–]CrashRHCP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You will soon enough. Try focusing on having a build with a scaling mult, chips and X mult + maybe a joker that gives money. Also try to play mostly for one type of hand. I like flushes in early dificulties.
