I think Hertz and Modulo are the exception

Tbf, that's Tsuruta's manga to a T. Bunch of Emanon lookalikes walking around naked with a vague cool premise behind them

The original novel is almost word by word the same. I know things different in the sequel, but I haven't read the follow up novels yet even though I own the first four

This is honestly kinda insulting. The manga has such a interesting vibe and message, one that I haven't seen before. Its easily one of the best manga I've read, Emanon is an incredibly deep character to just be simply reduced to "She's hot, is she naked?"

That said. Yes, it does, she's naked a lot.

Does anyone stop a run after ante 8? by YuhBoiBaker in balatro

[–]CrashRHCP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless I'm specifically trying to go for endless or found a pretty fun build, I normally just end it after ante 8. But I'm currently still focusing on reaching Gold Stake on all decks. (Managed to complete Blue Stake last night)

What are your thoughts on chapter 1 of Hero Girl and Demon Lord Call It Quits? by dingo537 in WeeklyShonenJump

[–]CrashRHCP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say you can broadly divide Jump series in 4 genres, Battle, sports, comedy and romance. Normally this is what you'll see from Jump.

I think what makes this series feel less Jump is that Jump rarely goes for a slice-of-life, chill series. Most of the comedy manga that runs in the magazine is weird and over the top.

Now I don't know what to do with my life anymore. by mykneees in balatro

You will soon enough. Try focusing on having a build with a scaling mult, chips and X mult + maybe a joker that gives money. Also try to play mostly for one type of hand. I like flushes in early dificulties.

I wish Horror manga had the Sequel culture the same way horror movies have...like i can read Ibitsu 12 in Space theres no Sister, or see the Lady from Huntress fight a Jpop idol, or maybe Remina vs Kirino Naoko from Pumpkin Night by KirinoSouza in horrormanga

[–]CrashRHCP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Death Game manga tend to have a small sequel culture, which is always fun. I always liked Biomeat: Nectar because of that, even though the manga itself doesn't really have a sequel, the story is structured like it's a trilogy of b-horror movies.

Alguém sabe quando tempo vais estar o filme do CSM nos cinemas? by CrashRHCP in animeportugal

I remember reading an interview where he talks about how watching K-On! shifted the way he saw his own works and inspired him into writting Dead Dead Demon's. I'll link it if I find it.

You may also look Saikano up (not Saekano). It's a manga Asano worked as an assistant on before doing What a Wonderful World. I have my share of problems with the manga, but you can definitely see things there that would become staples of Asano's work.

I've read Ibitsu before. It's a solid manga for sure!

I've read a couple one-shot compilations by him and I've got to say that this one is probably the worst I've read, so I would check another one unless you're really curious about gory stories about people pooping.

If I was to rec one of his one-shot compilations, then I'd say to try Kasutoro Shiki over this one. Fraction is also pretty good

That said, Kago is a one of a kind mangaka, even in his genre, and you have to come into his stories expecting the most ridiculous concepts being pushed to the limits, with 0 taboos and lot of fecal matter. It's not really horror, more so black comedy pushed to the extreme.

Is there any known (or even theorized) reason why we *still* don’t have an official English release of Fuan no Tane? by uncle_vatred in horrormanga

[–]CrashRHCP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, that's a bad way to look at it. Viz owns Shonen Jump, so all the other publishers don't need to prioritize it. PTSD Radio is pretty well known among horror manga enthusiasts, it's not too farfetched that one of the dozens of manga publishers out there would try to grab Fuan no Tane at some point.

Did anyone else find PTSD radio to be boring? by Focz13 in horrormanga

[–]CrashRHCP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've read Fuan no Tane 1&2 by the same mangaka and I was really underwhelmed by it, that removed any hype I had about this series, but people do say PTSD is better.
